Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp - Official Trailer - Netflix ...

Good, funny stuff here folks with an all-star cast of goof balls. Represented: SNL x's a few, Parks & Rec, Madmen x's a couple, Children's Hospital x's a couple, Bradley Cooper!, the funny geeky guy from Brooklyn 911, the Cera kid/young man, Paul Rudd!, Janeane Garafolo, and on and on and on. I've been meaning to check this out for a while now and finally did last night when the wife was out socializing. It's goofy funny. Got nothing on the DVR with no hopes of anything on the current telly shows?...this is for you.

danimal, have you seen the movie upon which the series is based? if not, i insist that you do so at your earliest convenience. hi-larious. and you buried the lede with respect to the backgrounds of the cast: many of them are alums of 'the state', the greatest sketch comedy show of our generation (kids in the hall possibly excepted).

Roberto, no I have not but will check it out.

And the Deez Nuts candidacy - genius! I'm so pissed that I did not think of that first.

ZMan just told me a few weeks back about that movie. I believe he said "that intense Bradley Cooper - Michael Ian Black scene is awesome and my favorite movie scene ever."

rob said...

indeed. pay close attention to that scene, danimal.

I just happened to watch two episodes of this show last night. Rob is right, the show is pretty much one long State sketch with lots of very famous actors sprinkled in. It's amusing for sure.

i used to wax irate about the yankees' payroll edge back when clarence and i used to write misery loves company, but holy shit are the dodgers going plaid. they give no shits. payroll now with chase utley added to the mix is at $298m.

There is now a 96.9% chance that when I urinate, I will leave a visible pee dribble on my pants. I have little ability to stop this. Troubling.

zman said...

You need a pee bib.

welcome to middle age, tr

Danimal said...

or stop wearing pants.

Danimal said...

or put a condom on immediately after that last little tap tap, non-lubed of course.

TR said...

I think the solution is to focus on dark pants. Maybe I should invent a urethral stopper that looks like a mini wine cork.

I used to think that the blowers they installed in public restrooms were a waste. No one would rather blow their hands dry than use a paper towel. It's loud, it takes longer, and it never really 100% dries your hands. But after age 35 and a few kidney stones, I think I understand their real purpose.

so long as it's not one of those vacuum stoppers. 'cause that could get painful.

Danimal said...

they're not that painful

just got an email from a woman named sheena. i assume she's a punk rocker. a punk rocking office supply salesperson.

zman said...

Not to be confused with Judy. She's either a punk (but not a punk rocker) or a dickslap, depending on who you ask.

TR said...

Miss Judy, she was moody. Owned a sweaty farm in old Alabam.

Clarence said...

Suzy is a Headbanger. A song that did not make the list. Not worth of Judy or Sheena.

The brain behind the Deez Nuts campaign is a HS sophomore?
impressive

zman said...

The brain behind deez nutz is a 41 year old moron.

rob said...

hey-o!

wait, you're only 41? damn, clarence is old.

gheorghe explains the deez nuts phenomenon in tomorrow's post. check your local listings.

I love Hard Knocks. Watching Vince Wilfork interact with an elephant is good times.

mayhugh said...

I could watch Vince Wilfork do anything. I don't even mind that a lot of the footage draws attention to how much he sweats.

It is fairly obvious in the 10 second interaction that was shown that he thinks Tom Brady is a huge tool.

Bill O'Brien is fun. As is Mike Vrabel. Romeo Crennel just spews clichés. Brian Cushing is total meathead.

There is a disparately large amount of time spent on JJ Watt, understandably. Great athlete, works his tail off, and seems like a genuine guy, but I'm not sure he is the most dynamic or funny guy. They are going to have to find some more characters. I want some coverage on the guy who brought each volume of the Game of Thrones series, as I'm sure he's not surviving cuts.
