...why can't the Milwaukee Brewers? What the hell am I talking about you ask? Being a soap star, that's what. Intrepid G:TB reporter Dennis just discovered that four members of the Brewers filmed cameos today for an upcoming episode of "The Young and the Restless". The lucky Brewers:
J.J. Hardy (strikes me as Steve Blake-smart)
Chris Capuano
Jeff Suppan
Bill Hall
They all supposedly have a speaking role in the scene, some photo op for the campaign of Wisconsin state senatorial hopeful Jack Abbott (sorry, I only know "Days of Our Lives", so I've got nothing on this Jack Abbott fellow). The episode airs Wednesday, June 20th, so have your wife/girlfriend/illegal immigrant maid set up the TiVo for you.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast of Falcon Crest, only on SOAPnet...

Also, just in off the presses...G:TB holds a distinguishing honor courtesy of the Blog Siteometer. I'll leave it up to you, fellow readers, to figure out what it is...
At least this blog is good for something...
My mom has been watching Y&R since the 70's. Jack is th eoldest son of the Abbott family who are bigtime fragrance moguls. He has had dabled in the multi-decade love trianlge with Nikki and Victor Neuman.
You don't want to mess with Victor Neuman.
Jay Bilas has already dropped "motor" twice and the Lottery hasn't even begun yet.
Celtics...ouch.
The Young & Restless - top 10 theme songs ever, trailing, among others, Rockford Files and the Kids in the Hall. Elaboration G:TB post forthcoming.
Elijah Dukes: not too much Gheorghe in him...
Elijah Dukes' wife filed for a restraining order last week and claimed that Dukes "threatened to kill her and sent a photo of a handgun to her cell phone."
I don't get it. I send text messages of my guns to TJ all the time.
Clinton Portis was asked to comment on the situation and exclaimed, "If E-Dukes wants to kill his wife on his own property, that's his business."
I'll tell you what...Elijah Dukes already makes Albert "Don't Call Me Joey" Belle AND Carl "Jurassic Park" Everett look like stand-up guys.
Mark, I especially loved the Saturday Night Special you sent last weekend (sgs).
I try. I thought the Remington was a nice touch of nostalgia.
I guess Hardy isn't a complete moron:
Brewers SS J.J. Hardy feared he would totally forget his lines Tuesday morning on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless." "I was nervous," admitted Hardy, who along with teammates Bill Hall, Chris Capuano and Jeff Suppan had an early wake-up call to film a scene for CBS's top-rated soap on a set at Television City. "I didn't know what to expect. And when those lights come on, your heart starts pounding." After two flawless takes of the scene with actors Peter Bergman, Michelle Stafford and Billy Warlock, however, one never would have known the players were not seasoned actors. Bergman, a lead actor on "The Young and the Restless" for 18 years and a 29-year veteran of soaps, came away duly impressed. "These guys followed direction perfectly and it worked out great," said Bergman, who plays Jack Abbott on the soap. "These guys were animated, they were fun. They didn't flub lines. J.J. said a line to me and kind of poked me in the ribs. We had fun. I thought they were terrific. "Bill Hall seemed to be the most natural at it. From the very beginning, he seemed at ease. The other guys were a little hyped up. Bill settled into it right away. He was very comfortable."
Because he can act? I'd disagree. Acting is one of the few professions where it pays to be moronic and empty.
More that he could remember his lines, though I'm sure the teleprompter helped.
Good point. I guess we should be impressed he can read that fast. Seriously.
