The Jim Bowden bashing in the comments of the last post has GTB thinking...

Great, Rob ruined the game...

Are we sure there's not room for Marcus Vick on the Bengals roster?

Brendan Haywood, without even thinking.

Dennis HATES big men who bring the ball down on rebounds/possessions/all the f'ing time...almost as much as Whitney hates his boss.

For the record, I am tempted to go with Rob on this one, but my civic duty obligates me to register a resounding (c) answer. I mean, come on.

How can you hate on the co-star of "Blacker tha Barry, Sweeter tha Juice"? Sacrilege I tell ya...

feinstein was *killing* little danny today on the radio. makes me really wish someone would write a tell-all about the snyder regime.

whit - shouldn't meyera oberndorf or her counterpart in your 'burg be the target of your civic outrage? you no longer have a dog in this fight.

Kitty Kelley?

Now that its been mentioned, I find it pretty surprsing that nobody's written a tell all about the Snyder era in DC. There's got to be enough stories to fill up a couple hundred pages at this point, no?

Whitney said...

Meyera's not too bad; nor is Paul Fraim. And if there were a figure even remotely close to being as nefarious and embarassing as Marion Barry in the 7 Cities, I'd have plenty to say about him/her.

I moved out of the District in 2003 and I still feel appalled at MB's presence. Relying on the intellectual aptitude of the denizens of DC hasn't worked, so I'm calling for a banishment based on this vote.

Whitney said...

But what's to tell? Plenty of vignettes will fill pages, but won't they just reinforce what we already know -- that he's a little prick with elephantitis of the ego who makes himself feel better by trampling his employees and ruling the Redskins like an emperor -- and in doing so, he's the most inept owner in pro sports who will never, ever win a championship.

As always, it can be tough to follow non-chronological multiple conversation threads in the Comments.

There used to be a time Donald Sterling's name would come up in this conversation, but alas, Danny has far surpassed him now...

Despite my southern upbringing, I figured it out. I'm sure that most of ya'll know much more behind the scenes info than me so maybe it wouldn't be a worthwhile read for people near DC. However, based on the few stories I've heard from Greg, Geoff, etc., a book about little Danny's reign seems like something I'd plunk down $20 to read more about.

For completely oposite reasons though. Sterling was a notorious cheapskate, whereas Danny is just a notorious douchebag.

T.J. said...

How's the pale ale Stiffler?

T.J. said...

Correct...I simply meant Mr. Sterling often enters into "Worst owner in all of sports" discussions...

Gilbert Arenas...wow.

Time to delete Black Groundhog Day from the DVR:

'SHOW ME,' 'DAY BREAK' OUT IN LATEST ABC SHUFFLE

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC is shuffling its deck chairs once again, pulling both Wednesday newcomers "Show Me the Money" and "Day Break" from its schedule effective immediately.

In addition, production has been halted on "Money's" back-six order (read the story). In total, just five of the show's seven completed installments have aired.

Both "Money" and "Break" hit series lows this past Wednesday among adults 18-49 (a 1.7 rating for the former and a 1.4 rating for the latter), making the news not much of a surprise. "Break" had previously been set to run through December 27 before going on hiatus.

The network is expected to stream the seven remaining episodes of "Break" on ABC.com.

The news marks the Alphabet's first official cancellations of the 2006-07 season. Still sitting on the shelf, but technically alive are "Extreme Makeover" (three episodes yet to air), "Help Me Help You" (four), "The Nine" (six) and "Six Degrees" (seven).

That last sentence is a dagger as well. Just keep mocking me ABC...

Has there ever been a good dragon movie? Did the dudes who greenlighted "Eragon" think this was a no brainer?

rob said...

the guys on american chopper made a cool eragon bike, so the movie's got that going for it.

Whitney said...

"Shrek" was pretty good, and it had a dragon. And I didn't see any of them, but I feel sure the Hobbit or Harry Potter movies have dragons, and they did fairly well at the box office.

To generalize, dragon-lovers are friendless dorks with nothing better to do than see movies at the theater multiple times. I would think it actually is a no-brainer.

And "Enter the Dragon" was a great film not about dragons.
