Whitney and I just wanted to wish you all well...we will be headed to New Orleans tomorrow and Friday, respectively, and I hope to still be gainfully employed when I return. Whitney hopes to still have a liver. You'd think it would be easier to find a YouTube clip for a trip to New Orleans, but I got sick of sifting through 9th Ward videos, so I settled on these two beauties, one a music video I think Geoffrey might've used in a Wheelhouse Picks post, and the other a clip from the Van Damme classic "Hard Target" (you remember, the one with Wilford Brimley and tons of John Woo slow motion). Enjoy these, and try not to miss us too much...

Too late...I already miss you.
I can't believe your work screwed you out of the trip to New Orleans...
Mine tried to, until I threatened never to quit.
IGORS, my home sweet home away from home . . . Daddy's on his way.
I've got "BLACKOUT" penciled in for Saturday night...here's hoping Igor's will oblige.
Bring your drinkin' shoes . . .and all of your other dirty clothes. Igor's has it all.
I'm outta here...Whitney, I'll see you in 2 days.

If it keeps on rainin, levees goin to break,
When the levee breaks Ill have no place to stay..."
I just need someone else to watch and confirm what I'm seeing.

Ummm, I'm not sure I just watched that. I could still be drunk so there's a definite chance that I just imagined that entire video. At least I hope I did.
Saturday night- and you're passing on the I-A game in town?!
There are at least 50,000 good tickets remaining.
It's debatable who was in worse shape Saturday afternoon, the Green Wave footballers or me. I "lost time" like an X-Files character -- apparently I had a heated exchange with TeeJay on the phone around 4:00 and I have zippo recollection of it.
I tracked down my friend the Scottish bartender in the Quarter and he's quit drinking because of ulcers, so he made me do the 100 proof Wild Turkey shots he wanted to do. Made sense at the time. The last thing I remember was chasing one with a McEwan's while "Fields of Fire" blared in the background.
Oh, and before this weekend I'd have guessed "Bonerama" was the title of a blue movie, but it turns out it's one of the coolest bands I've ever seen in N.O. (See, they have a whole lot of trombones.)
Any confirmation on whether TJ is still alive or not?
Last I saw him, he was in startling good condition. He had a suit on and was casually drinking light beers. I think his first evening there was a rough one, but he'd bounced back thoroughly by Saturday night.
Good morning world...I am alive, not too well, but still employed. I would bet $1,000,000 bucks Mr. lester had a much better overall experience in New Orleans than this guy, though my performance Thursday night was epic (in my humble opinion). I can barely type right now, and my brain hurts.
OK, someone needs to stop Joe Lunardi. He just put his field of 65 up on espn.com
I just read that.
Good God. That guy needs a life...says the man who read the entire article.
I hate the Dolphins a little less right now.

Joe Lunardi should not be heard from or thought about until February.
Mel Kiper should not be heard from or thought about until March.
Santa Claus should not be heard from or thought about until December.
These three character's increasing march towards omnipresence makes their appearances less special in all of our minds. It's a shame.
Mel Kiper compared to Santa Claus...I like it.
Kiper, on Santa Claus:
"Kringle, a 6'1" space eater with a generous mid-section and a tendency to dsiappear for long stretches, is expected to go in the late 4th to early 5th round."
