fyi...was very fortunate not to have to come out of pocket for those tix... i gotta guess you could probably get near 5 figures, which we are actually considering doing. we would then buy some cheapy's, and then of course turn the margin into millions over at the hard rock casino post-game.
In response to rob's comment in the last post ... wouldn't it make more sense for W&M to join the Patriot league instead of the A-10, now more than ever? Do they want to be part of a 22 team conference with a numerically incorrect name and a less than illustrious roster of academic members?
i was engaging in a bit of what we like to call 'bullshittery', z. atlantic 22 ain't happening. we'll probably wind up in the patriot. i suppose there's an outside chance the a10 comes calling once butler, vcu, xavier, dayton all get poached by the schools that are leaving the big east. that's the best case scenario, but i don't think it's likely.
a colleague and i just had a growns up business meeting with fog:tb buck marston and his team. at one point in the proceedings, one of his team members made a suggestion, and buck leaned forward and said, 'just when i think you can't get any dumber, you go and say something like that...and totally redeem yourself'.
hard to top that for awesomeness in the conduct of business meetings.
I don't read the local paper much because it's like most local papers, useless other local news and high school sports but the Teej brought this to my attention yesterday (before my wife even) and I thought I'd share with the rest of G:TB.
another gift for mark - heard brian mealer on the radio this morning. he just released a book called 'muck city' about belle glade football and the town.
I follow a few high school football reporters in South Florida on Twitter for recruiting news and such. Heard about the book a few weeks back. Immediately ordered it.
However, I am severely backed up on my book consumption as of late. Received five books for my birthday (Dream Team, Sweetness, The Essential Smart Football, The Last Great Game and the Monster of Florence) and haven't cracked a single one. So, it may be a while before I get to Muck City.

Hey kid getsa yourself indiatalantic. You thinksa I lefta the Camaro in the garag and drova youh no-mustache facea in the damn Chryslah all the way to the shoh to watch you sitsa here a put sand up your ass?
It's probably about time I admit that Rob was right about Draymond Green and I was wrong. I just couldn't see what position he'd play or, more importantly, who he'd guard in the NBA but he's apparently just one of those guys who just knows how to play whether he's the first or last option. Good for him. And good for the Warriors who are really entertaining and quite good it seems.

Oh. I don't get the logic or logistics of college sports conferencing.
nor does anyone else, including the athletic directors and administrators in the middle of it.

i am using that in class tomorrow -- we are doing fables in creative writing and then moving to post-modernism. perfect.
you're using marston's dumb n dumber quote? cool.
It's easier to integrate into the lesson plan than "Kick his ass, Sea Bass!"

Yes, that's my father in law. And yes, there's at 95% chance he was wearing pajama pants when this picture was taken.
