The Apocalypse Is Nigh

The New Orleans mayor has banned alcohol sales and closed down all the bars there for Mardi Gras as of yesterday.

I get it. But goddamn it, man. Twilight zone is right.

Are the Dems to blame? Short of storming the chambers and making those Pubs vote to impeach, what could they do?

i'm talking about them caving on calling witnesses. the managers did a damn fine job presenting the case. calling witnesses was an opportunity to make it even more uncomfortable for the gop to cast their inevitable votes to acquit.

zwoman works for a spinoff from a large technology company, I'll just refer to them by the initials HP. As a result she uses an HP laptop and gets a discount on HP products. I got a work from home stipend so I upgraded to a new HP laser printer/scanner. I used the HP app on my Apple iPhone to connect it to my Altice Ubee router. Then I connected the HP printer to my Dell work laptop and my personal Apple iMac through the wifi. This took maybe a minute for each machine. For the life of me I cannot get zwoman's HP laptop to connect to the HP printer. So I took my old HP printer upstairs to her home office and connected it directly through a USB cable, which is how I've been using it with my Apple iMac for about two years. Her HP laptop still would not talk to the older HP printer. I tried a manual install and it suggested a "universal driver" and that allowed me to install the HP printer on her HP laptop. I clicked on "print a test page" and nothing happened. I opened Word and tried to print a test page. Her printer showed up as an option but nothing printed from it. I'm not casting aspersions but it seems like an HP computer and an HP printer should be instantly compatible. Anyway, I told her we need to talk to her IT guys and she said "We don't have any IT guys."

HP!

There's a reason HPQ trades below its Year 2000 high of $30/shr, even after doubling from its March low. I am a Lenovo Thinkpad fan. Lightweight, long battery life, easy for a Luddite like me to put together a home office setup.

Stacey Plaskett is the only winner of this impeachment.

Excited to hear about how Zman and Mark's shoe-shopping bro date in Teaneck went.

It fizzled out when we realized Packer Shoes is temporarily closed. Fuck covid.

I've had a great weekend in the Northeast but I have to say I was extremely disappointed to miss out on shoe shopping with Zman. We were coordinating things and then Z realized that Packer was closed. Quite a bummer. I went to a couple local shoe stores and found nothing good or priced well.

As for the podcast and movie combo, good rec by Rob. I've done a fair amount of research/history learning on the Panthers but I'm sure I'll learn more.

This Nets-Warriors game is fun. Warriors are outgunned and stopped playing D, but was fun for the first 30 minutes.
