Required Viewing, I'm Deeply Sorry to Say

So my folks both told me I needed to watch the video being shown at Trump's impeachment trial.  I told them I didn't really want to, that it would surely only serve to make my stomach hurt.

I went to the NPR post, anyway. I watched it.

Please watch all of this at your own risk and away from children, or bosses, or anyone who might try to defend any bit of it whatsoever. But please, if you haven't already, soak in these 13 minutes.

I was in the camp that having Trump out of office and out of my day-to-day mind was good enough. That the impeachment at this point may be some Dems just beating a dead horse, or just overkill.

I'm not in that camp any more.

i’m compelled by jamie raskin’s argument that failing to convict sets a precedent that any office-holder in the lame duck portion of their term can violate the law with impunity.

Raskin’s massive bald spot is a magnet for my eyes. It consumes me when he is on camera. Those high-angled cameras do not help.

Rod “I’m not a cat” Ponton is taking the lead in Trump’s defense.

why did you bring this back into my consciousness?!!

i think the deep problem is that trump is a narcissist who was just pandering to a group that already exists and is seeking scraps of misinformation on the internet and in radical hate groups in order to find meaning in a changing world and they will continue to emerge in various and unpredictable ways, whether it be in concert with a "leader" like trump or in a reactionary fashion to the so-called socialists now in power. trump is like the fever of the epidemic disease-- more a symptom, less a cause-- so go ahead, impeach him-- he deserves it-- but there's a far greater problem that can only be solved with critical thinking skills and education. blech.

Speaking of Rutgers, a high school kid in my neighborhood just announced he'll be playing baseball there. He was on the slim side and only had low-level offers. He went to community college, grew two inches, put on 20 lbs, got a couple more on his heater, and then got into a Big 10 school. Good story and good family.

Who's spearheading our W&M Charter Day content production?

328th birthday isn't special enough for content. Ask Patton:

First day ever snowboarding for my youngest. She did great. Even threw in a hop on her last run. Can’t wait to go back out tomorrow. Her Dad had a lot of fun too.

The house we rented near the Mountain has a full game room on the bottom floor. Pool table, air hockey, mortal kombat arcade game, beer pong table, huge standup connect four and a hot tub out back. Also 4+ feet of snow outside. My kid is heaven.

Mark - you could not have picked a better time to come to the Northeast for snow. My town in NJ has gotten 34” of snow from three different storms in the last 10 days. Where are you?

Unrelated NBA nerdness: Kareem is #1 all-time in points and #4 all-time in rebounds. Yet he only led the league in scoring twice (both times as a Buck), and he only led the league in rebounding once.
