The Best Thing I Saw on the Internet This Week
This doesn't require a lot of words. Suffice it to say that it strikes a number of chords with me, and that Mandy Patinkin is a goddamn mensch.

in far sillier news, my company has begun working with a collaboration technology called figjam - it's distributed by a company called figma. i cannot contain my giggles every time i hear the name.
showing my commitment to the day's bit by having actual fig jam on my sandwich. the sweetness offset the spiciness of the long hots.

Kid moved in at W&M. If memory serves, he’s living in what was Lambda Chi. The 1st floor is a lounge with A/C now! The rooms are sans A/C—we left him with 4 fans. 4!

I am “meh” on Ronaldo. I think the hype and distractions probably offset his skill. And he’s probably at 80%-90% of his peak, but will still act like he’s at his peak. It’s all about Bruno Fernandes. That guy is a stud. But he probably is an upgrade.
Rafting was beautiful. Kids had a blast. Only issues were that the rapids were pretty tame, and that we had a HUGE group. There were 8 rafts, so we frequently stopped and waited for the others to stay with us. But my kids jumped off that rock at the end, and we learned some stuff about the area.
I mean Ronaldo is an upgrade in the midfield, not an upgrade from Bruno.
Bruno Fernandes is no Bruno Magli.
Wow, tiktok has some value after all.
As an aside, with all the Gheorghie's making their way up to Maine recently, I squeezed in a quick half day trip to take my mom up to see my Aunt (her sister-in-law or for Rob - my dad's brothers wife) who recent fell and broke her neck. She's doing great but Maine doctors are not Boston/MA doctors.

So I just watched the clip in this post. Oh, my. Lovely.
Finally made it back to the farmer’s market we stumbled onto as a family in May, when we came to look at neighborhood.
I went with my dog. An acoustic guitar player was playing Ventura Highway and a local distillery was offering samples of their locally distilled blended whiskey with a sign that says “You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.”
So yeah, it’s going okay.
TR may be having a better morning than me. But my weekend is shaping up pretty nicely. About to have brunch with my sister to celebrate her birthday. Then you know, football is on all afternoon and the wife and I have a night to ourselves. Wrapping it all up with my fantasy football draft tomorrow. Life feels relatively normal…if you temporarily forget that my state is a COVID resurgent hellscape.
TR and Mark doing well. I’m currently at our old haunt the Cowboy Cafe for burgers and beer. Meeting rob tonight to go to a soccer game. Last night Marls joined us for some bevs. Life ain’t bad.

That Yankees run was nice
About to start last leg of a hellish trip home after an epic week in Scotland with the boys. Hellish but well worth it. Lots of bad golf interspersed with many a drink, some covid related stress, but undue, and loads of lifetime memories. Good to be back almost home.
Travel safely, Danny. Two high school buddies and I are debating a trip there for our 50th.
This New Orleans news about Ida is awful. I think we’re past the point of “sorry, we misread the storm and it won’t be so bad.” I hope I’m wrong, but I fear this could be another hammer on that fine city.
