My creative reserves are running critically low at the moment. It's a multi-faceted diagnosis, in my mind. There's so much fuckery around us, from the jaw-dropping mendacity of our national leadership to the more locally-focused bullying incompetence of William & Mary athletic director Samantha Huge. I've got posts in my head on each of those topics and many others, but they arrive at my keyboard stillborn.
And yet, we've gone too long without new content, so I'm going to literally just share a thing that's been running around my brain the past few days that's given me pleasure. Friends, you can never have too much Oingo Boingo.

The sweaty-wifebeater-and-suspenders look never gets old. It never gets good either but that's a different story.
1987 was a mood, z.
trivia question: name the actress married to danny elfman?
the Will and Grace lady. the one not married to Nick Offerman
wikipedia informs me I was way off
Jenna Elfman? Hard to believe any of these guys got laid. They make The News (Huey's band) look cool.
A little bummed you didn't play Dead Man's Party, if only b/c it's my favorite awkward moment from Back to School. Sally Kellerman walks into the party and struts in while snapping her fingers to the beat. Pretty bad stuff from an original cougar.
Bridget Fonda is living off of that sweet, sweet soundtrack dough - just like LOGGINS.
The horn section looks good, but the rest of those guys...I dunno man. Bass player has a Eugene Levy in culottes look. The singer is doing the ear plug with his non mic hand that I remember TR doing while singing GnR Patience at an NYC karaoke club in summer of '98. I'm entertained.
dead man's party, while excellent, is like the 11th-best track on boingo alive, the band's double-album from the late 80s.
i went to the gym this morning . . .

Boingo Alive was the band going into the studio and re-cording many of their best songs the way they had been playing them live. With some verve. Pizazz. Panache. Elan. And all those horns. Great shit.
Oingo Comes Alive!
Dead Man’s Party is not a good song, IMO. It’s just the background music to a very funny scene. “Diane! Say hello to my nieces.”
Oh, Philip!
This game is over but I’m gonna stay up a bit longer just because I want to watch Mahomes more.
Yeah, he's been unbelievable. 260 yds in the air in the 1st half.
I really like Louis Riddick in the booth, and I love Levy, who is an energetic meat and potatoes announcer. Griese is a meh that should head back to college games.
I watch the Chiefs and then try to convince myself that they and the NY Jets both play the same sport.
Mark reverse jinxed the game back into contention. We all win.
If W&M paid Shaver a $1.7 MM severance, that means he had a shit-ton of years left on his contract b/c he wasn't getting paid a ton. So that decision is really dumb.
But on the flip side, kudos to our own Arliss, the one and only DLC, for getting him a phat contract.
I didn't know Eugene Levy played bass.
