your tribe are road favorites once again today, as they travel to philly to take on drexel. w&m is giving 3.5 points to the dragons, who are 4-2 in the league. six games in, and it's hard to argue against the notion that the 6-0 tribe isn't one of the league's elite teams. i think they'll win and cover.
oh, and a snowy day road trip to philly? that sounds fun.
I saw the Budos Band last night with FOGTB JCKOS. You know you’re old when you appreciate that the band wasn’t too loud, the venue was very clean, the restaurant associated with the venue had interesting tasty food, and you got home shortly after 1 am so you got enough sleep to do all your kid stuff the next day.
Title track from Nathaniel Rateliff’s new album (And It’s Still Alright) just dropped on streaming services. Good tune. Mellow and less than 4 minutes, like Zman’s love-making sessions.
Daddington Saturday: Basketball coaching, gym, lunch with fellow basketball parents and kids. 3+ hours at Chuck E Cheese for the kid’s birthday party. Your boy is wiped. The bourbon and the couch are calling.
Chuck E Cheese is the WORST. I think/hope we’ve outgrown that hellhole. Watching original Bad Boys w/ my 10 y/o. Not appropriate, but wife is not here to yell at me about it. I like it more than I thought I would.
I’ve never seen the Bad Boys movies. My wife loves them. At this point in my life I’m so backed up on movies that I truly want to watch that I doubt I’ll ever see them. Which is fine.
Chuck E Cheese is a total shit show. I do enjoy the all you can play game cards though. Lots of pop a shot and skee ball for your boy today. If I’m shelling about a bunch of money for a birthday party, at least I get some fun too.
I had never seen any Bad Boys movies. Was pretty good. The Miami setting is always fun. A couple fun facts:
- Martin Lawrence was first lead and Will Smith was second. I guess that was the pecking order before MiB hit. - Tea Leoni circa 1995 is as easy on the eyes as it gets. I forgot how much I loved her. - Great supporting roles: Imperioli, Pantoliano, Helgenberger
Tea Leoni was definitely up my alley back in the day. Had some peak Aniston/Friends vibes.
Easy to forget what a comedic star Martin Lawrence was at one point.Good call on that TR.
Miami gets shit on quite a bit but it’s a fun city. I’d move there in a minute if I never had to negotiate traffic and the other daily grind issues (aka I was super rich).
We're way past Chuck E Cheese age now, but when my now 16 year old was three he climbed up into a distant tunnel and refused to come down. We vowed that day to never return, and we've stuck to it.

Tiny, how long ago was our Philly college hoops double dip in a snow storm?

My former teammate, Rob Burke, is now 1-0 as a Head Coach. He should probably retire now and wait for the HOF invite.

It took 36 years, but I finally just realized that Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders. I’m quick like that.
