Fun with Art

It is rare that the NFL, protector of Lord Football, defender of manly American values, waver of the flag, serious of purpose (the purpose being to make shitloads of money for franchise owners) engages in any sort of whimsical enterprise. So I think it essential that we celebrate those fleeting moments.

Recently, several NFL rookies (Bryce Young, Bijan Robinson, and Xavien Flowers, among several others) sat down to paint their team logos from memory. The results were memorialized on t-shirts as part of an Homage x NFL collab.

This is inspired silliness, and I am here for it. In fact, I think the league should go one better. Each year, throwback uniforms add a little bit of interest (and opportunities for merch sales). Going forward, I think one team each year should have (get?) to wear helmets based on their rookie's artwork. Jags fans would be all over this from Tank Bigsby:

You know you want it.

Sweeps Month Cross-Promotion

We've had a mini-run of excellent content this week, which is timely, as this is the time of year advertisers assess their content partners' audience counts to determine where to allocate their marketing dollars for the upcoming period.

With that in mind, two birds, one stone today, as we highlight Sentence of Dave's ongoing fascination with taste, supertaste, and/or poseurs masquerading as beer lovers. Says Dave, "Once again, I've found a beer that tastes really good (Sixpoint Sensi Harvest) and once again, I neither have the discriminating palate nor the gustatory diction to describe it properly..."

Fear not, Dave, for as you note in your sentence, there do exist...supertasters:

Whimsy Trumps Venom

My flight to OBFT was canceled so I will miss this evening's festivities. rob encouraged me to write a venomous post about my stewing hatred for the airline, but instead I will make like Action Bronson and post some whimsy.

Speaking of travel, Bam Bam recently took a trip to the UK and visited St. Hilda's East Community Centre, an old folks' home in London. Whimsy ensued.

Happy Football Day

In keeping with our convention-bending celebrations of American Football, we offer a little afternoon whimsy as we do our best to kill time before Lord Goodell and his minions take over our lives for the next five months.  NYC G:TBers, an assignment: please go find the Big Gay Ice Cream truck (or visit the new shop at 125 East 7th Street) and tell us if the product is as good as it's purported to be. T-shirts for the whole staff would be a nice touch, too.
