I mean, was this seriously a commercial?
Holy Shit, this commercial gets a whole lot better with a little googling. The breakdancing group in this spot? (which is 100% real) The Lockers.
Wikipedia...(originally named The Campbellock Dancers) were a dance group formed by Toni Basil and Don 'Campbellock' Campbell eight years before MTV and 32 years before any of the current TV dance competitions could give them a hands up. Active throughout the 1970s, they were pioneers of street dance. Don Campbell is the founder of the locking dance style and originally, Locking was called The Campbellock - a style that was based on the dance and song that Don Campbell created.
And yeah, if you're thinking that Toni Basil name sounds familiar, you are correct. And it leads to awesome clip #2 in today's morning filler, Toni Basil's seminal 80s classic "Mickey"...

I loved those Schlitz commercials with the bull busting through the wall/door at the end. No matter how crazy they were the bull would always bust through something, insert your mom joke here, at the end. Ah, memory lane!
Teej - I cant see this at work, but is this the lockers commercial for Schlitz Blue Bull? If it is, I am depressed that I know if without seeing it. If it isn't, then you need to post that one as well as the James Coburn one for Schlitz Light...The light beer with gusto.
Carmine Ragusa and I have to get back to work now.
The Tommy James/Average White Band version of the Blue Bull commercials is fantastic and I believe has been discussed in this space before.
Marls...this is indeed a Schlitz ad, but it is some funky breakdancing.
There is a Redd Foxx Colt 45 commercial that includes bad music, rich dudes on ski slopes, 1970's cars and malt liquor. You may want to look that one up as well.
I likes me the malt liquor ads.
Was this the inspiration for "Bamboozled"?
Black Keys strike again with another great video.
TJ would so see this movie.

I love malt liquor adds too. Though not nearly as much as I like malt liquor.
In semi-related news, I tried my first Four Loko this weekend. Dee-lish.
fantastic pop cultural history lesson.
Toni Basil has a brief and trippy nude scene in the graveyard scene toward the end of Easy Rider.
