Here in N.C., Republican gerrymander backfired spectacularly. Currently 10-4 GOP-Dem split in House. State GOP redrew maps to add 11th seat. Not only did it not happen in district they targeted, Dems might have flipped six seats for 10-4 advantage in next Congress.
In state races, GOP held 71-47-2 advantage in House going in. Results flipped that completely; Dems appear assured 69 seats and as many as 71. State Senate was 30-20 GOP and now appears to be 26-24 GOP and maybe 25-all split, with Dem Gov and Lt. Gov.
Please, Dems, don’t now fuck this up colossally with in-fighting and trying to take the pendulum so fringy far left that we usher in a Trumpalike in 2028. With great power comes great responsibility.
Does that mean Chuck Schumer is going to get hit by a car at dusk?

I don't know how the Republicans lost so badly when they have exceeded expectations, politically. Trump explained it best:
