Gheorghe Endorses

I intended to post a detailed assessment of Kamala Harris' accelerated search for a running mate today. Lots of words talking about the surprising (to me) depth of the field, with a nod to the idea that there's no terrible choice among the leading contenders, especially in comparison with JD Vance. I would've addressed some of the reporting in this New York Times piece about the influence of various donors (TL:DR version: Dems gonna Dem, and if Harris listens to the noise, we're gonna wind up with the most centrist and least-exciting choice possible.) And in the end, I would (and do) endorse Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, former high school teacher and football coach, and extremely impactful and consequential leader in his state.

But things got in the way of that post. Most of those things are 12 ounces, pale yellow in color, with a knack for chasing me and making me drink them at the beach.

So instead, enjoy this heartwarming video from Dan Povenmire, the co-creator of Phineas and Ferb.

Harris/Walz/Phineas/Ferb 2024! Make America Brilliantly Silly Again!

Rob should have absconded with some of those pale yellow beverages, since the OBFT seems to definitively prefer seltzer beverages nowadays.

I thought the D stood for Davenport, which is what my midwester Granny called her sofa.

brush with fame alert: yared neguse, who runs the 1500m for the us, and won his semifinal heat earlier in the week, goes for a medal at 2:50 est this afternoon. he went to college with and is a good friend of buck's daughter kendall. he likely isn't ready to compete for the gold, but he's in the mix for something metallic.

rootsy, brush up on your walz. you're gonna love the guy.

I was intending to demean the guy whose name I butchered in my comment. Perhaps I should have named him tub-o-vile to reinforce my intent.

well that was exciting!

Again, don't call what you're wearing an outfit.

Plus auto salvage doesn't seem the most natural industry fit for a fashion conscious man, regardless of his fascist sympathies.

Fun sports day (aside: I don't get people who don't like the Olympics - so many fucking sports and elite athletes. Even shit I don't care about like, for example, the pole vault and women's discus event last night were riveting).

Today, however, was exceptional in team sports. 4 men's basketball quarterfinal games with 3 really fun ones and one American blowout and, of course, a great US-Germany game in women's soccer. Looking forward to catching up on track and field tonight.

Comments do look different to me Danimal. It did it for a day last week, then went back to usual.
