(Face) Fashion is Dumbbbbbbbbbb

Sent to me by FOG:TB @dumbartonsbeer here comes the latest, and possibly dumbest, entry in our actually recurring "Fashion is Dumb" series. Seriously, Maison Martin Margiela, I hate you:

Frankly, since no one asked, if I were to unveil a line of fashion face masks, this seminal classic from my youth would be the inspiration:

  1. this is a very clever ploy to save money on name supermodels. genius, really. hell, one of those might be greg.

  2. Anybody see KQ's brother on Sportscenter this morning sporting a swarthy beard?

  3. The model on the left looks like the dude from The Watchmen.

  4. I bet that superherocartoonsite.com is TJ's home page.

  6. kq's brother continues to do amazing work on peds in sports. can't help but wonder if he'd rather be on a different beat.

  7. I think KQ's bro looks good in the beard!

  8. This is off topic, and I'm not certain she reads this, but I do want to say this: Get well soon, Mariah. We're all praying for you.

  9. Actually, I think the facial hair is his homage to OBFT.

Mark, I'm pretty sure neither he nor his facial hair have ever been referred to as swarthy. And Rob, as far as BOKQ's aspirations for other beats I can't comment...you should ask him!

  11. if he really wanted to pay homage to obft, he'd go mutton chop. that's what we're doing this year, right, clarence?

how would one go about asking his beat preferences? without sounding like a perv.

  12. It has now KQ. It has now.

  15. We now have an answer to the question "What do TR and Mariah Carey have in common?"

  16. I'm planning to go to the Nets/Mets game in DC on Sat July 27with my dad. Looking for good seats, not break-the-bank seats but something around $100 per. Anyone going to the game? Anyone have a line on tickets beyond the box office and StubHub? Anyone have an opinion on the best section in which to sit (other than the obvious as close to right behind home plate as you can get)?

  17. The cougars like to sit near the red tent, or red porch, or red box. I don't know you say. She can fill you in.

  19. my thoughts on Nats park: the third base side gets the shade first and i think has a better scoreboard view. Sec 108 is a personal fave. its on the 3rd base line and because of the odd angle of the section the seats are deceptively close to the field (we once sat in row K but it was actually the 5th row)- the tix tend to be cheaper so I think you can sometimes steal seats that are really close without paying a premium. 109 is similar. the cougars have sat in 117 a couple of times which i like and it's also where one of the kiosk bars is located. the lines are painfully long and slow but cocktails are $10 but for $12 you get it with better liquor and a bigger cup. it's important to be aware of these details. shlara is really the expert though - you should ask her.

  20. Thanks, KQ. I appreciate the insight. 3:05 game time that day, not sure what that means for shadows. I do know what that means for kiosk bars.

  23. 77 year-old gary player is naked in espn's body issue. he's kind of a badass.

  24. clarence, where would you like me and the teej to meet you and your pops for dinner after the game?

    ReplyDelete
  25. perfect - we go to kenner league games all afternoon, then to the dub.

  26. KQ was spot on with her assessment of Nats stadium. 108/109 are BRUTAL in the sun for a day game. If you're willing to spend some coin, go for the 116/117/118 behind the visitors dugout are worth the $$.

I checked with my ppl--already have their tix committed for that game. The cougars have been successful on StubHub, especially when we plan ahead

  27. I'm jealous of Rob & TJ's Saturday.

  28. Wait, are the rest of us invited to watch baseball or basketball and then have dinner at the Dub?

  29. I will be up in the area Friday night as well. No set nighttime plan yet - golf tournament for flynn that day in MD. Used to be night full of debauchery in Bethesda afterwards, these days it's pretty tame.

  30. As far as I can tell, people usually just drink in The Bullpen until about the 3rd inning, then go to the bar in the back of the stadium until the end of the 7th, then leave.
