@BaconBaking, NFL Pick Expert

My inability to gamble is well-documented in this space. So this year, I smartened up and asked the wife to make the weekly picks. Only two weeks for this to pay dividends, as you will see below:

Winning one week nets us $150. I will not even pretend to make a pick the rest of the season.

As an aside, I did make one pick this weekend, in my Survivor Pool. I switched the Giants (which the wife had chosen) to the Patriots. I think we all know how that turned out.

  2. The Redskins lead the league in scoring? When was the last time that happened?

  3. I'd bet it was the Rypien-led 1991 team (1992 super bowl).

  4. the sample size, she is small

  5. The '83 Redskins were the highest scoring team in league history until the Randall Cunningham Vikings unseated them.

  6. that's a testament to the accuracy of the spread. best to have no interest.

  7. Cause its a slow work day...

The Redskins were second in the NFL in scoring in 1999 (last season before Snyder). They last led the league in scoring in 1991. In 1983, they scored 541 points (approx 34ppg) which is the third most all time behind the '98 Vikings (556pts) and the '07 Pats (589 pts). Only four teams have scored more than 500 points in a season, including the '07 Colts (522).

  8. Anyone want to hazard a guess at which NFL team has the all-time best winning percentage? Its a bit surprising.

  9. hmmmm...if we're going to be surprised, I won't go 49ers or Packers...

    the Raiders?

    49ers 5th
    Raiders 8th

  11. Fun with NFL stats: The Cardinals next loss will be their 700th. Only one other team has 600 losses (Lions, with 600).

  16. The Redskins are 16th. Here's your clue...this team also has the most wins in NFL history, and the second most championships.

  24. That happened to me and Greg one time. We got slightly drunk in Boston and saw Transformers the next day. The following day we got accidentally hammered in Rome, where Greg made out with an American chick, attempted (and failed) to liberate a teenage male Lithuanianian prostitute from the Russian mob, and chased down a transvestite who had bloodied the face of a shirtless teenage Swedish boy and stole his cell phone.

  25. "accidentally hammered in Rome" in simply chapter 41 in Greg's autobiography

    ReplyDelete
  26. best comment ever? it's possible.

though it's not clear why you stole a swedish boy's cell phone.

  27. rob, you think that comment is good...you need the full-length, dvd-commentary version
