Tournament: Day 4

I can't quote the bible like Zman (I've never been into fiction) but I did want to make life easier for all our friends commenting from their phones so I decided a new post was needed for the Sunday slate of games. And while I was thinking about that I decided I should push some of my musical tastes on the readers of G:TB (shit, everyone else does). You may have never heard of Ratatat. If not, they're just a couple of Broooklyn hipsters who do dope remixes. Very, very dope. You've probably heard of Slim Thug...but you've probably never listened to him. I can't blame you. He's not really my style either. Despite my southern upbringing, there aren't a ton of Southern rappers that I love.

I do, however, love this remix. Don't blame me if it's stuck in your head all day today.

  1. When do games start today, eastern standard time?

  2. Holy fuck, someone, please, write something. I am dying here.

    ReplyDelete
  3. TJ--sounds like you've had a rough morning...

Games start at noon ET. But the important games are at 2:45 Duke v. Michigan, 5pm Mason v. Ohio State and 7pm VCU v Purdue

    ReplyDelete
  4. and the irish play at 940...what is up w/that? were 2nd round games on that late last year? i'm in bed by 9 at latest.

  5. someone has a case of the rough moring sundays

    ReplyDelete
  6. love the teej's tweets this a.m.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Teej is a pretty individual this morning. Huge slate of games on today. I, for one, can never get to sleep on Sunday nights so I'm happy with games going late in to the evening.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thank you Mark. No one calls me pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Now, if you were actually calling me petty, well, that's occurred a few thousand times.

    ReplyDelete
  10. washington appears to have the athleticism to hang with carolina. make it so, isaiah.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I was actually attempting to call you a pretty bitter individual, TJ.

I've got Washington over UNC in my bracket. Mostly because I love Isaiah Thomas.

    ReplyDelete
  12. and this is where carolina takes over. unc and richmond in the sweet 16. i'm so happy.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm not a big Carolina fan, but I love watching Kendall Marshall play. Everything a true PG should be.

    Nice game.

    ReplyDelete
  14. washington's a really fucking dumb team

    ReplyDelete
  15. Rob's quickly gaining on TJ in the bitter old man contest.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Did that game end on a block too?

    ReplyDelete
  17. What game on now? Score pls?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hello laptop and game action...

    ReplyDelete
  19. If only the Knicks and the Smashing Pumpkins made the Sweet 16, Rob would revert to his days of breaking things while watching sports. Lucky for him Billy Corgan has no game.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And I feel about Duke like her feels about UNC (sorry, Dennis), so this just... got... interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If Duke doesn't win, my bracket is screwed

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hold on, forgive me if this is a dumb question and I should know, but is that dude on Michigan related to Steve Novak of Marquette fame?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Michigan has 3 offspring of NBA players--Hardaway, Dumars and Horford. Interesting.

    And yay Nolan!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Watching the end of a Duke win is like reading the end of a Diary of Anne Frank.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I took Mason over OSU because (a) if Mason won and I didn't pick them I'd feel like an idiot, given my various associations and (b) I'm an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  26. That Mason player's sneakers are whiter than the Duke Michigan game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i always pick duke and unc to lose and they never do. bet with your heart, not your head.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I HATE Ohio State. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate that stupid nut head buckeye too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I've felt like Ohio State is the best team in the country since I saw them throttle Florida early in the year, and nothing I've seen since has convinced me otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't like Ohio State either but this is a really, really balanced team.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mason is rushing their game and has bad shot selection.

    WHY???

    ReplyDelete
  32. and KQ, don't forget that its THE Ohio State.
    douchebags..

    ReplyDelete
  33. When Ohio State is shooting it like this, it doesn't matter what Mason does.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Plenty of good seats still available in Tulsa. Texas-Arizona not doing anything for the locals, evidently.

    ReplyDelete
  35. David Lighty 7 of 7 from three right now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not going to lie...I'm excited for the new episode of Hawaii 5-0 tomorrow night

    ReplyDelete
  37. Jamie Maggio won't be working for TBS for long.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Is Shaka going to leave the CAA for a bigger conference after this season? I hope not...I like his swagger. We need that in the mid-majors. Especially our mid-major.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I could easily see Shaka following Anthony Grant to the SEC to face mentor Billy D twice a year.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Whether he leaves this season or later, Shaka's not long for the CAA.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The Boilermakers and Jay Bilas can suck it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jay Bilas can EAD and LMB.

    ReplyDelete
  43. zbaby is so excited about VCU that he just pissed his pants all over my shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ADL (audible dallas laughter)

    ReplyDelete
  45. G:TB's editorial staff should all chip in and send a peck of pickled peckers to ESPN's CBB analysts. So they have something to chew on.

    ReplyDelete
  46. AZ/TX game...or, Rick Barnes will assuredly fuck this up.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wait, what was Texas down in this game? Did Marv say 32???

    ReplyDelete
  48. Derrick Williams thinks Chuck Norris is a pussy

    ReplyDelete
  49. Everything's better with Marv. Unless you're his girlfriend and he's biting your back.

    ReplyDelete
  50. J'Covan Brown thinks he can score on anybody. And he might be right.

    ReplyDelete
  51. And I can't stand Texas as a general mater. The school, not the state.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jimmy Kimmel is pissed on the AZ sideline

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow. What a huge turn of events in the Texas-Zona game.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Did Derrick Williams' teammate just mouth kiss him?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'd like to see a replay there.

    ReplyDelete
  56. On the foul...or mouth kiss?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I thought the UT guy got fouled going up after the offensive rebound. But I also had Texas winning it all on one of my brackets. I guess yesterday was the "we're calling fouls inside of 5 seconds" day.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm buying a can-am tomorrow. Dope.

    ReplyDelete
  59. anyone call kq to make sure she's not out in the neighborhood looking for buckeye trees to chop down?

    ReplyDelete
  60. TJ and I had the instinct to shout at Jay Bilas on twitter at the same time.

    Brilliant or scary?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jer, I thought he did too, but I am now seeing images/gifs that show the foul just after time expired. But yeah, after yesterday, I was so shocked they didn't call the foul I screamed at my TV in an empty hotel room.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I didn't save it on the DVR, but I thought he got hit before the buzzer. Both teams have plenty of fans so I'm sure the play will be thoroughly broken down on the internet tomorrow. Regardless, it's not a call that you can expect to get every time.

Everyone will talk about the last minute, but Texas lost it in the first 30. They played it like an NBA game and it cost them.

    ReplyDelete
  63. and cost me. my beautiful bracket is falling apart . . .

    ReplyDelete
  64. I am so overtired and bitter I might spend the entire evening tweeting asshole things at Dickie V and Jay Bilas.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Shaka is this year's Larranaga

    ReplyDelete
  66. zbaby just shit his pants in honor of Purdue. This tournament costs me a lot in diapers.

    ReplyDelete
  67. TJ, that might be enough to finally get me on the twitter machine.

    ReplyDelete
  68. vcu's bitchslapped a pac-10, big east, and big 10 team. florida state beats notre dame and they get to take out an acc team next.

    ReplyDelete
  69. VCU/USC. VCU/Georgetown. VCU/Purdue. Better TEAM won all three games.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes zman, I was wrong with a prognostication about the NCAA tournament, I will go bury my head in the sand, as I am so dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  71. "TJ" is Gaelic for "thin-skinned."

    ReplyDelete
  72. i thought it was 'pale skinned'

    ReplyDelete
  73. I hope all of you just got to see the postgame video of the VCU locker room. Fun stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Dion Watters is balling his ass off tonight. Couldn't come at a better time with Triche injured.

    ReplyDelete
  75. vcu locker room was great. butler and vcu need to have a locker room-off.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Or maybe I'm pissed that the team I mocked is going to beat the team I root for. Or whatever it was you said.

    ReplyDelete
  77. 11 seeds own this mo-fo of a tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Florida State-Notre Dame. Hmmm. Is okay if I just root for both teams to get simultaneous NCAA violations and be kicked out of the tournament?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Just think of it this way -- all the fans of both teams will be pissed if their basketball team is better than their football team.

    ReplyDelete
  80. That game is going to tip at 10pm est? Um, ok.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The TV changes have been 99% excellent, but starting this late on Sunday is kind of annoying. These games used to be over by 8.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm fine with the games starting late, but I get the beef most people have with it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm an hour behind you guys and I might not it until the end of this FSU/ND game.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Geesh, I also thought very little of Florida St (not as little as Marquette, but close)...and look at them taking it to the Irish.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Florida State is usually complete shit offensively but they are terrific defensively. I'd bet top 5 in the nation. Best defensive team Florida played all year.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I think they were indeed #1 or #2 in the NCAA in FG% allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Andddddddddddd...the Morris twins have had just about enuff of Illinois.

    ReplyDelete
  88. So if the Seminoles hang on, Kansas has the 10, 11, and 12 seeds remaining in their region? Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yes, wow, very bad for Kansas. They loooove to lose to double digit seeds in the Dance.

    ReplyDelete
  90. BYU is playing in the bayou. Neat!

    ReplyDelete
