  4. i would have thought meggett would have been able to elude the canadian authorities and gotten across the border-line. he must have lost a step in his old age.

  5. ate "the hippie" today at a new diner...not new as in new, but new to me.

mark - you mentioned several weeks ago you were heading to a jags game - is this the wkd? please advise. not sure if wife & boy are going yet - if so, we might be able to meet for a beer. if not, we can definitely meet for a beer. and if this is not the game we probably won't be able to

  7. Those sleeves are ridiculous and they've actually been selling them for a season or two. Just plain awful.

But I bet they would go over well with the NASCAR group.

  8. the link didn't work. is that a real tattoo or something different?

  9. To all NY area Gheorghe contributors,

I am looking to do a polar bear plunge in 2011. any recomendations on a good location? preferably in NJ, but I will venture to Long Island.

  10. Dan- this is indeed the weekend. I'll be in Jax Beach sometime Saturday afternoon. Not exactly pumped about watching such a crucial Gator game outside of my normal environs but I've had good luck with Gator games in Jacksonville so I'll soldier on.

As for Sunday, let me know. Apparently, I'll be at a really good tailgate as the people I'm going with work at The Ritz (bar, not hotel) and the owners of said establishment have pretty impressive setup. I'd be happy to meet you or have you join us for a free cocktail or three.

And anyone who wears a faux tattoo sleeve should be beaten...severely.

  11. the ritz- i know it well. in fact, i am looking at it. my office window looks down upon the fine establishment.

  12. doing the sea isle city polar plunge in february. forget the exact dates-- google it. we've got a place, all g:tb staffers are welcome to shrivel their extremities with me. we did it last year, best party day of the year-- the inimitable lecompt plays for four hours after the plunge at the best dive bar in the world-- the springfield inn. be there.

  13. Dave, consider me a probable for the Sea Isle City polar plunge in 2011.

It's the weekend of Feb 12. Abe's birthday!

  15. put me down as a virtually impossible! thanks!

  16. Teej? Are you in for a plunge?
    Rob? In for a plop?

Remember, lads, a red sky at night is a sailor's delight.

  17. The Teej, Greg and surprise guest Vitas will be hanging tonight...Mark, give the readers a Dr. Jack-breakdown of Vitas if you will.

  18. regarding my participation in the polar plunge: no fucking way.

  19. Come on. Seriously... how much smaller can your nuts possibly get?

  20. Vitas told me he was going to be in DC tonight, but I was half drunk so I forgot. Here we go:

The lanky Lithuanian is a highly skilled if not athletic big with a nice touch from the perimeter (1-1 on 3s in his UF Intramural career). Fitness can be an issue due to his proclivity for binge drinking and love of "dip", however he's never puked in public like his German cohort. A solid, low maintenance role player with the ability to carry a team on his finest nights. Always an asset for any evening out.

Fuck...now I'm jealous. Vitas, Greg and TJ on a Thursday night in DC? Sounds dangerous...and a lot more fun than a polar plunge.

  21. How bout a 30 for 30 on this Cam Newton story? Lets get crackin!

How many nights in the last ten has THE TEEJ imbibed? I don't judge. I envy.

  22. Wow. So I have to be the distributor in this group. They (me in my own head) don't call me "The Enabler" for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Definitely TJ. You know those Euros love to shoot.

  24. the answer to how much smaller can your nuts get on a polar plunge is: smaller.

but honestly, it's actually exhilarating to jump in the ocean with 800 other drunk people-- many of whom are hot chicks in bikinis-- and the partying afterward seems more fun because your heart is still beating.

  25. Greg's scheduling skillz and Vitas' locale in MD is starting to make me think this won't happen...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mark, if it helps you get over your jealousy, I'm in Orlando right now. Come pick me up.

  27. tribe just signed a 6'8" kid from minnesota who, in addition to being a hoops star, participated in ultimate frisbee.

  28. Bob Papa is a great play-by-play guy, but he's lost in two piles of shit named Theismann and Millen. He sounds very bummed out to be with these clowns.

  29. ed reed's gonna be paying king roger a sizable portion of his next check.

  30. Mayhugh's in Orlando? Man, if I wasn't going to Jacksonville this weekend I'd totally go hang out with this guy I've never met. Maybe I can arrange a rendezvous between Mayhugh and Roberto. I feel like that would be an odd but enjoyable pairing.

And Rob, I question how much of a "hoops star" anyone who signs with W&M is...
