These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things

Since many of you won't be working on Monday (I will, not that I'm bitter about it), here's a NSFW video of Cee-Lo Green covering Band of Horses' 'No One's Gonna Love You'. Like two great tastes that taste great together, Cee-Lo's sync-heavy riff is the chocolate to the Horses' soulful peanut butter. (That pun, definitely intended.)

Can't figure out how to embed this one, so follow the link. And enjoy your weekend.

  1. The LSU-Florida game is always a pretty intriguing matchup but tonight's game has an especially interesting subplot. After last year's SEC Championship game, long time Urban Meyer assistant and (at that time) Gator WR coach Billy Gonzalez left to become the "passing game coordinator" at LSU (how's that working out?). Most thought it was due to Gonzalez's anger at being passed over for the OC job vacated by Dan Mullen in favor of OL coach Steve Addazzio (how's that working out?), and it probably was. What makes this so interesting, besides the fact that Gonzalez left to coach at a SEC rival is how he chose to announce his departure. Gonzalez took his keys and cellphone and left them on Meyer's desk with a sticky note that simply read: "I'm going to LSU". Classy, classy move.

If he can, I think Meyer's going to open up the passing game and try and drop 300 yards passing and 30+ points on LSU and Gonzalez. Among other things, Meyer has proven himself to be a vengeful bastard when he feels he's been wronged.

  2. That's quite a way to leave - I guess it's reassuring that coaches are as meatheaded as their players.

Since I only have one TV (unlike some fo the crowd), I'm staying with BAMA-SC, and it's not disappointing. It's cliche but BAMA looks a little disinterested on the road right now. I see this panning out like the Arkansas game, with the Gamecocks going up by low double digits in the first half before Bama gets their shit together. As I type that BAMA misses a tackle behind the line on 4th and 2, and Garcia picks up 5 for the first.

  6. Wow. I had pretty much the same thoughts as Mayhugh on this SC-Bama game. Didn't see this coming. Gamecock defense is fiiiired up.

    Anybody check on Rob yet?

  7. Spurrier can't go conservative. Got to keep flinging it. And Mayhugh...only one TV? For shame.

Just in time - the SC cheerleaders have lots of southern charm.

  11. Yeah, that was one of the better catches you'll see. The slow motion replay didn't do it justice.

  19. Well then. I've finally reached the point of honesty. Florida just isn't very good this year. The OLine is a joke. The WRs scare nobody. The D is consistently out of position and when they are in position, they can't tackle for shit. This team, she is bad.

  20. even more glad i chose beer and friends this afternoon. had a baaaad feeling all week. can i get a cliff's notes version? cocks win as decisively as it looks?

  21. Birthday is tomorrow, Ig. 33, drink up though.

I'd like to emphasize how fucking terrible Florida's OLine is. Supposedly a strength of the team going into the season and full of vets somehow gets no push in the run game and can't pass protect for shit. If John Chavis is smart (and I think he is) he'll man up and bring the house every time Florida goes 4 or 5 wide. This is fucking terrible.

  22. Mark. 33? May u and I get a Gator win this Eve....by 7 tho. Otherwise I need them to lose. Wow. They do suck.

  24. Florida's bad. Really fucking bad. I clearly was working with some level of denial to this point. This is a bad, bad football team.

  38. Shoot me in the fucking face. That looked like a forward pass to me on the fake FG. I can't fucking believe the Gators found a way to lose that game after the 4th Q comeback. I absolutely hate watching Florida this year. Disjointed, disorganized and generally unimpressive.

Doesn't really matter though. Florida aint very good and they're gonna lose again so they might as well lose now. FUUUUUUCK.

Rob...tore my calf (Gastroc muscle) a few years back. No bueno. Some solid PT will have you good to go in 2 months though. Godspeed.

Thanks for the bday present Gators. Ass. Holes.

  39. I'm as bitter as I've been after a Gator loss in years. Fucking terrible. Would've rather lost by 2 TDs. I guess I'll drink until I puke tonight...

    ReplyDelete
  40. In retrospect, I'm (kind of) glad Florida lost. They were thoroughly outplayed tonight by LSU and a win would've only masked the many deficiencies this team has. Two straight losses will force (hopefully) Meyer to re-evaluate this team and the program as a whole. There are a lot of problems and they aren't easily fixed. Time for some changes. If they don't happen soon, Florida will lose another 2-3 games this season.

  41. there was lots of college football on tv but everyone kept plying me with shots so no comments.

  42. The tribe should have scored 40+ yesterday - lots of missed opportunities. But I'm enjoying their 5-1 start (for the second year in a row by the way). I'm less excited when I look at the rest of their schedule:

vs. Delaware (6-0) - average margin of victory over 20 points a game. They've only played one close game, a 13-10 road win against JMU.

    at UNC

at New Hampshire (3-3) - shut out Richmond yesterday, lost in OT to Maine

at JMU (4-1) - the win over VT the highlight. Tribe usually has trouble with them regardless of what their respective records are.

vs. Richmond (2-3) - seemingly suffering a down year but always dangerous.

A 3-2 finish seems best case...
