We've celebrated Kevin Clash here before, so it's probably no surprise that we're pretty excited about 'Being Elmo', the acclaimed documentary about his life's work.
Passion is one of G:TB's themes, mostly because we're trying to find it in our lives. Kevin Clash's story makes me happy, makes me hopeful, and makes me wish I had my hand up a Muppet's ass.
Watch the trailer for 'Being Elmo' and join me in heading to the cineplex when it's released in DC at the E Street Theatre on November 11. NYC readers can catch it now at the IFC Theatre. Floridian's are gonna need to head to Boca. I'm working my documentary film connections to see if we can fix that.
i hate "elmo" so much i'm not even going to watch the trailer. in fact, i think i've found my passion: loathing elmo.
ReplyDeletei can see hating that slut rosita, but elmo?
ReplyDeleteEven Muppets know how to use blog post labels, rob.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a film about the woman from choo choo soul.
ReplyDeletei have my own labeling muppet - big blond goofy one
ReplyDeleteI saw Elmo in Williamsburg today. His wife is pregnant again and he was driving a minivan.
ReplyDeleteWould Summer Dave loathe Elmo? I'm not so sure.
ReplyDeleteso far today i've fed two kids breakfast, coached a soccer game, ordered a birthday cake, fed two kids lunch, driven a kid to play rehearsal, painted a mailbox post, driven another kid to a party, picked up a kid from play rehearsal, and dropped the same kid off at a different party. i'm about to cook dinner for the remaining kid.
ReplyDeletei will thoroughly enjoy the drunk i'm going to embark upon this evening.
i had a similar week, and i'm leaving my family to go embark on a drunk with a dad who has had a similar week. i'm not supposed to show up until eight, so that his wife is putting his kids down, but i feel if i don't start walking in the next five minutes, I might fall asleep. also, i can't actually walk, because involvement with three soccer teams, plus my own soccer playing, has given me plantar fascitis. when do we get to retire?
ReplyDeletei miss summer dave.
Hall pass tonight. Been boozing w kdawg lynch since noon. I feel your pain though. But not really. Go irish
ReplyDeleteI one-manned an infant from 6 pm on Wednesday to 7:30 pm yesterday. Accordingly I slept until 11 today and will go to the Jest game tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet even Elmo knows how to properly use apostrophes.
ReplyDeletedanimal, give my best to lynch. i love that crazy bastard.
ReplyDeletesomeone's gonna get some well-deserved spousal abuse.
ReplyDeletez, i'm constitutionally incapable of sleeping past 8 any more. i'd kill a small mammal to be able to sleep until 11.
ReplyDeleteand finally, alabama better wake the fuck up
ReplyDeleteMichigan State just used a safety and some chicanery to make this Wisconsin game worth watching. Folks in the crowd are getting fired up.
ReplyDeleteBetween March 11 and October 19, I hadn't slept for more than 5 consecutive hours, and typically got by on two 3 hour rests per night separated by one hour of screaming, bottling, and diapering. I guarantee that you could sleep until 11 after running that gauntlet. I was also famously the laziest guy in the house based in no small part on my sleeping prowess.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I bought a jersey for the first time ever (I have another one that a friend gave me). I'll let you guess whose (or is it who's -- Samantha, help a fratre out) name is on the back. TR cannot guess.
i will go with emerson boozer
ReplyDeleteNot a bad guess (boozer's wife was zsister-in-law's basketball coach so zin-laws ate friends with the boozers) but wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat parenthetical will prompt an outburst from TR.
no it won't
ReplyDeletecaps are having a nifty opening month
ReplyDeletesick run between the tackles by trent richardson
ReplyDeletejerry underrated this evening's action - big hockey game, entertaining games in east lansing, south bend, and tuscaloosa, and a world series game shaping up as a doozy.
ReplyDeleteal toon?
Wisconsin doesn't look nearly as good against legit competition it seems. I don't really know though. Just got home. For those keeping score, I've spent just over 7 hours at the fair this weekend.
ReplyDeleteFor 10:15 on a Saturday night, there are an awful lot of good sports viewing options available.
ReplyDeleteMark - Wisconsin owned the first 20minutes of this game. Momentum changed in a hurry after a terrible Russell Wilson safety. Crazy turn of events.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree. They seemed great after their Nebraska win, but are succumbing to the pressure.
I was following the game via Twitter. Sounded like Wisconsin was on the verge of running away with the game early. I have nothing against Wisconsin but I'm happy to see the Big Ten effectively eliminated from BCS title contention.
ReplyDeletebuhbye big ten - back to irrelevance for you. again.
ReplyDeletebut notre dame has shiny new helmets!
ReplyDeleteI root for as many undefeated teams are as possible each year because I like to think that the ridiculousness of having so many undefeateds will force a better conclusion to the regular season. It is a fruitless endeavor, but I find myself drawn to rooting for it anyway.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, maybe I spoke to soon on Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteTexas Tech is up 21-7 on Texas Tech. too bad I can't find it on my TV.
ReplyDeleteOops. It's on ESPN2. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI've only been watching since about halftime, but since then Russell Wilson has made a number of very poor throws.
ReplyDeletewhoa. hold the phone.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a drive By Russell Wilson. Showed you all his strengths, and more importantly tied the game
ReplyDeletewisky really should have read that shovel pass better
ReplyDeletei hope everyone saw the end of the wisky/msu game.
ReplyDeleteDagger
ReplyDeleteHOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS CRAZY
ReplyDeletei'm going to bed now so i can get up at 3:00 for the rugby world cup final. #noimnot #notevenclose
ReplyDeleteTommy Tuberville is doing some real Tuberville shit to Oklahoma right now.
ReplyDeletei hate "elmo" so much i'm not even going to watch the trailer. in fact, i think i've found my passion: loathing elmo.
