you weren't paying attention
NCAA Championship Game Tonight. Carolina/Michigan St, 9:21pm tip. Perhaps Mr. "I hate baseball but will happily write 2,000 words on basketball" can throw a post up later.
Speaking of our tattooed contributor from America's Wang, it's Opening Day for Major League Baseball today and I for one am fired up. I eagerly await Charleston Chew's first start today as a Yankee. Non-stop baseball on the WWL leader today, from Whit's Mets to rob's Sox to my Yanks.
Another excellent segue opportunity...you might not hear a lot from rob these next ten days or so. He's got himself a temp gig over at the George Mason Patriot Center that's taking up a lot of his time.
Man, did anybody else wake up with a spring in their step today?
ReplyDeleteYeah, me neither.
For a guy who genuinely seemed to enjoy the Cardinals winning the World Series while we were in Jacksonville, you sure do a good job of faux hating baseball.
ReplyDeleteIts tough for me to get excited about the beginning of something that won't end for another 6-7 months (and will dominate the sports landscape for most of this time). I love the NBA and I barely care when they open their season in the middle of fucking October. And the Cardinals represent everything that is right in basb....bahahah. Man, I thought I was gonna get through that.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing: Why is Franco Harris in that Filet of Fish commercial?
You have the NBA Playoffs to distract you for the next two months...and I don't know about Franco. He's in that ad, the Arquette bimbo is in the Taco Bell ad, and former N.W.O. Wolfpack member Kevin Nash is an usher in that Citi Card ad.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget Michael Bolton in the Coke Zero ad.
ReplyDelete...and Tim, from the British version of The Office, is one of the guys screaming in the Heineken closet commercial.
ReplyDeletethat heineken commercial gets me.
ReplyDeletelow 50s, wind and rain in boston for opening day. remind me again why tampa is playing in boston in early april?
oregon state, cbi champions. nice beavers.
ReplyDeleteand opening day in fenway postponed. there goes my afternoon procrastination vehicle.
ReplyDeleteCalling for snow in Cincinnati, where the Mets open up today (or not).
ReplyDeleteAnd I think we failed to recognize Old Dominion University as champions of the 2009 CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Very prestigious. Someday William & Mary might get invited to it.
ReplyDeletegood point. shame on us.
ReplyDeleteon the bright side, it's almost time to start paying attention to hockey. frozen four in dc next week and the puck drops for the nhl playoffs, too. bruins are the top seed in the east, which will make the first round loss sting all the more.
ReplyDeleteJust in case you were wondering, it snowed about 3 inches in Ann Arbor last night--still snow flurries now. I don't think this precipitation will deter the Spartan fans from pre-game parties in the Detriot streets tonight though.
ReplyDeleteTJ, there was a Tim Kilgore sighting this past weekend.... Hasn't grown an inch since 2nd grade
