Dueling Mini Summits

As Brent Musburger would say... You are looking live at the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC where a mini summit is in progress.

We invite those in the southern mini summit to post their current situation.

  1. I emailed Clara directly to ask about her book. Will let you all know if she responds.

  2. Whit butt dialed me from the show and the music can through loud and clear so I feel like a fractional participant.

  3. mini summits lead to maxi hangovers, in my recent experience. can't wait to run it back.

in other news, your tribe finish the regular season at home against elon. w&m are 7.5-point favorites over the phoenix. with a win and a loss by hofstra to lowly jmu (unlikely), the tribe would be the regular season caa champs. a win would also tie the school record for conference wins with 13.

  6. We're going to the game today in the 'burg. My dad went to Elon many years ago now (he turns 85 tomorrow), they live in Elon now, and they're visiting and want to go. I told them the Tribe's gonna win. Here's to hoping!

  10. Gotta suggest those are hatchets, not axes, eh?

  11. I did not expect Liverpool’s undefeated season to date in the Premier League to come to an end at the hands of 19th place Watford.

  12. My grandfather also went to Elon. He was in the class of 1918. That was a while ago.

  13. I had a doozy of a time explaining to my mother-in-law that her Brita filter absolutely does not sterilize water. She kept arguing that “it gets the PPBs down to zero!”

  14. We have thrown axes. Quite fun. Now playing cornhole in the same facility whilst drinking and listening to Tribe. Pretty solid Saturday night.

  15. The 2/6/7/9/12 ranked teams all lost y/day in college basketball, as well as multiple lower ranked teams. Things shaping up well for Seton Hall (ranked 13). Not a lot of well-known stars this year, but a wide-open race.

  17. Not sure how many of you saw David Byrne’s SNL musical appearances from the show last night, but they are as David Byrne-ish as it gets. He did Once In a Lifetime first. Barefoot. With 8 or so musicians dressed identically to him. Also barefoot. And there was heavily choreographed dancing. And it was all great. Second song was a similarly choreographed composition, Toe Jam, from his recent Broadway run.

Love that dude. Was lucky enough to see him solo a couple times during the aughts, back when I had choices.
