Happy Birthday, Big Fella

The G:TB Charter says we are only allowed to post football content on NFL Sundays, so I will wish a happy birthday to a guy drafted in the 17th round of the 1973 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings - David Marc Winfield.

He will be 69 years old. In ten years.

  4. I watched Tiger and Stricker until they stopped playing due to darkness yesterday, and their performance looked every bit of terrible as the 5DWN score would have indicated. Each guy had trouble getting on the green in regulation, and had trouble setting up the other, finding some bunkers (and then not hitting good shots out of them). It was like they had just broken up with each other before the round.

Luckily, that only counts for 1 point.

  5. I didn't know Winfield was drafted in 3 sports. Pretty impressive, but I'll never trust a guy who spells Marc with a "c".

  6. Is "5DWN" a variant of "THNDR CK"?

43 minutes to Bills/Jets. Get excited.

  9. and sergio...congrats. there is now a more annoying player than you out there - e. molinari. never seen so much to-do about making 3 footers for par and halves. unit.

  10. and lastly - not a better event in sports to dvr than ryder cup, unless you're a cricket fan.

  11. one other thing...was referring to earlier putts in the round when speaking of e molinari.

and "brown sugar" is on CW.

  12. The Bills broke out their "bag of dicks" offense this week.

  13. With 2:32 left in the half, the Bills have run 13 plays for 40 yards and 0 points. So far this season they are something like 1-18 on 3rd and 10+ yards.

  14. Anybody who spells their name Marc had better be making it short for Marcus. No other excuse.

I know the answer to the question "How old is Brook McElroy", but I don't want to be the bearer of bad news.

I hope the Molinaris' have some terrible nightmares about Bowser and the Koopa Troopas tonight.

Flozell Adams looks incredibly intimidating in Black and Gold.

  15. What is "K" short for in the context of the Bills?

  16. Why does the History Channel think I want to watch a TV show about people driving trucks on a dangerous road?

  17. Some rookie Brown crushed Jordan Shipley on a late hit in the end zone. NFL Red Zone channel is the tits.

  18. The Bills may be awful, but LDT was unbelievable today.

  19. Mike Tomlin is dressed like my wife's 76 year-old dad. Khakis and brand new white sneakers is not a strong look.

  22. I am so not excited about this upcoming game against the Eagles. I'm already thinking about what things I can do around the house in the second half. I do have some laundry I should do.

  23. Howie Long has a tremendous Windsor knot. Perfect symmetry.

  25. 3 and out on D? Color me pleasantly surprised.

  26. Brandon Banks - who the hell are you? Anyways, welcome - I'll take 51 yd punt return any day.

  27. I love the Philly reaction - standing ovation for McNabb when he's introduced before the game, then a mass of boos when he walks on for the first series. Did they think he wasn't going to play?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ryan Torain absolutely trucked a Philly DB. The shoulder pad pop was loud. It wasn't Brandon Jacobs vs Laron Landry caliber, but you'll see that on some highlights.

  29. jax scores a td on 1st possession of game. come on?

  30. the breast cancer vp is so good...he's got all the bands at farm aid wearing pink.

  31. Ok, who stole Portis's jersey. That can't be him.

  32. Huge boost from the refs on that play clock debacle. Thank you, zebras!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Another salute to Gibbs 2.0, using 2 TO's in the first few minutes of the 2nd half. Hail Joe.

    ReplyDelete
  34. At least they burned two timeouts to throw an INT.

The good news is I think the refs have money on the Skins.

    ReplyDelete
  35. And why are the Eagles/Kolb suddenly afraid to throw anything more than 3 yards beyond the LOS?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Evidently, Troy Aikman is so boring they had to bring in Bradshaw from the studio to liven things up.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, the Skins don't win a lot but at least their games are awful to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bidwell's still hurt, right? Or is he just the worst punter in football?

    ReplyDelete
  39. D-Train - 59 yd JAX field goal to win the game? WOW.

  40. The NFC East might be pretty bad, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  41. If the nfc east wasn't populated with high profile teams, people would be referring to it as the worst division in football.

  42. Alex Ovechkin was at my local Harris Teeter tonight shopping for groceries in a Nats cap and a Capital t-shirt. No one bugged him or recognized him. Best hockey player in the world.

  43. collinsworth: 'somebody put a tent over this circus'. a-freaking-men. the players' families have stopped watching this debacle.

  44. can we just have the defenses play against each other?

    ReplyDelete
  45. i know this is a pointless complaint, but how the fuck does boise state win 59-0 and fall a spot in the ap poll?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Because they played the worst team in 1-A and Oregon beat a really good team. If teams like Oregon keep on beating good teams, they're deservedly going to pass Boise State.

That Giants game was one of the better defensive performances I've seen in a long time. This is an unpredictable team.
