Happy Thanksgiving

The G:TB team is thankful for a great many things this year, but we missed an enormous opportunity last week that will haunt us for at least an hour or two. The Pontiac Silverdome sold at auction for $583,000. That is not a typo - 80,000 seats, 127 acres for less than $600,000. Can you imagine what we might have done with the Pontiac Silverdome?

I think we'll regret this one for a while. Muppets can only help so much.

  1. love bon iver.

did not actually believe "ghostland observatory" was a fictitious band-- the name just sounds made up.

also, you're not just paying for the silverdome-- you've got to heat that thing-- it's michigan! a year of heating that place and keeping the infrastructure working would probably cost as much as the asking price. seriously, i don't really think you should try to buy it, rob.

  2. i think you underestimate the revenue potential, dave. we could open the world's biggest meth lab. whitney would finally have a big enough venue for his bruce springsteen impersonator gig - that'd sell out in minutes. the possibilities are endless.

  3. The 1st Annual G:TB Monster Truck Rally would be fantastic. Is Grave Digger still around?

  4. maybe we could do a giant "sea of love" type sting operation. we could invite every criminal in the united states to a free bruce concert and then collect the rewards.

  7. What would you say the strong suit of the Aggies' defensive unit is? I've been watching, and I say this - they don't overstay their welcome. They're rarely on the field for more than a few minutes.

  8. Steve Tanneyhill has a bastard son playing WR for Texas A&M? I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

  19. alabama's offensive coordination (both playcalling and hand-eye) leaving something to be desired.

  20. Don't try and jinx Florida, Rob. I think Bama's playcalling has an awful lot to do with a lack of confidence in McElroy, and the Oline.
