America: Land of the Perm, Home of the Brave

I don't know about you clowns, but when I think of the greatness that is this country, I think of blond perms. And I don't mean the zeros around prety ladies' private parts (though they are great). I think of the great (and underrated) William Katt. You may remember him from his strong supporting role in Carrie. You may rememer him from his fantastic lead performance in the cult favorite Big Wednesday. But you definitely remember him from his claim to fame, the epic sci-fi comedic family action drama thriller, The Greatest American Hero.

The legacy left by William Katt can't be understated. Without his on-screen brilliance and follicular leadership, we probably wouldn't have been able to appreciate the subsequent fro-someness of these two guys...

God Bless America.

  2. Since we're all here, u guys think I'll have trouble getting Nats tix for Friday's tilt against the Bravos at ticket window the day of?

  3. I actually do! And I'll tell you why . . .

No, not really. That's just silly.

  4. That's like wondering if you can get walk up tix at a Pauley Shore film fest.

  5. Even with the draw of Nyjer Morgan?? Which, by the way, was a silly move by Rizzo. We got older and less talented in a rebuilding year. That makes sense.

  6. Rebuilding is a very generous description.

I'm not sure they're "re" or "building".

  7. Jerry, they're only three starting pitchers and 2 or 3 quality relievers away from having a mediocre pitching staff. combine that with their C to C+ offensive talent this season and you're looking at an 80 win team.

  8. The Nats five man rotation - John Lannan and four rookies. That is absurd.

And as much as I want to mock them offensively, the sad part is they're 6th in the NL in OPS. The hitters aren't the problem at all.

  10. Good job by Roddick to hold off our favorite racist Australian has-been.

For the first time in (what seems like) a long time, the men's draw is shaping up nicely.

And the lethal men's doubles pairing of James Blake and Mardy Fish keeps rolling along. Good thing those guys fell on their swords early in the singles' draw to save their mojo for doubles. That's where the real glory is.

  15. Despite my southern heritage, I do not watch NASCAR. In fact, I can't stand NASCAR. I did manage to catch the fact that the drug that got NASCAR Driver Jeremy Mayfield an indefinite suspension was released today. And that drug was...meth. Awesome. Just fucking awesome. That, my friends is connecting with your fanbase.

  16. Is it just me or did Wendy Nix get a lot hotter?

    I'm not hammered or anything.
