R.I.P. Farrah

Farrah Fawcett passed away today. Though a large portion of the G:TB sphere of influence wasn't old enough to appreciate her in "Charlie's Angels" or the poster on the back of your bedroom door (see below), here's to one of the female icons of Rob's and my youth.

  2. are we pulling for south africa this afternoon or do we want another shot at brazil? i think the latter.

  3. I'm fine with playing South Africa. It'd be better than having Kaka drop kaka all over us. Again.

  4. Its tough for me to root for South Africa in anything. Their collective history of racial injustice and bigotry is a bit much for my taste. Plus, Brazil is really fucking fun to watch.

  8. You know that there will be TONS on mentions of Michael Jackson on the draft coverage tonight.

  9. rumor from teejay is that mark has no internet access. could be a disappointing draft night on gtb.

  10. I got stuck looking at Farrah's nipples for a bit, but I thought I'd jump in.

The T-Wolves must have trades in the works, or they are total retards. 3 PGs is just stupid. Oh, Lawson will be traded. That makes them a bit less dumb.

  11. I think they're playing a deep cut Rob Base and DJ EZ-Rock tune in the background while they describe Jeff Teague.

  12. Eric Maynor is gonna see a whole lotta white folks for a few years. Bilas just said "he has good size, not great size" for a point guard, but "he's the kind of guy that knows how to play."

  13. how 'bout those nats? guess i picked the wrong night to stop sniffing glue.

  14. Israeli basketball fans are saying L'chaim the world over as Omri Casspi gets picked by Sacramento. Cameras pan to two swarthy guys frantically waving giant Israeli flags. And one of them looks a whole lot like Zohan. And a little bit like Jonah Hill.

I saw the guy lean over and tell a woman in front of him: "you have the ass and tits of a schoolgirl. And you know it."

  15. settle a question for me and teej. did brazilian legend oscar schmidt ever play in the league?

  16. For you and the Teej, courtesy of Wikipedia:

"(Oscar Schmidt) is considered one of the best players never to have competed in the NBA."

You must have confused him with the Bucks' Randy Breuer.

  17. And tell Teej that A-Rod is 3-for-4 with 4 ribbies tonight. Second straight big game for him. Bye bye slump.

  18. Knicks trade for Darko? Interesting...

  19. I'm still bummed about the Magic trading away Courtney Lee for that aging doucebag named Vince Carter.

  20. Vince Carter is a lot better than Courntey Lee right now and he'll give the Magicians a much better chance of winning a championship in the next couple of years.

Everyone agrees that this was basically a salary dump by NJ, meaning that Orlando got a significant advantage in talent. Carter has averaged 21-5-5 the past 2 years. Not a star anymore, but a very good player.

  21. I can't believe Taylor Griffin was drafted. At best, he's a homeless man's Eduardo Najera.

  22. And I'm glad to see that Mehmet Okur now has a Slavic wingman, although I don't see Mehmet and Goran scooping up Mormon tail in Utah.
