In 1991, John Kruk swapped his No. 28 to Mitch Williams in Philadelphia for two cases of beer.
But then Mitch got divorced (his wife had a bunch of 28-insignia jewelry, so that's why he wanted 28 in the first place . . . lame) and changed to #99, and Kruk had already consumed the two cases of beer. "It's a sad story," to quote the Krukker.
