Game 2: Electric Boogaloo
Yeah, that's right. It's time for Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Ozone, Turbo, Kelly, Mr. Met, and Grimace to get it going for the stirring sequel to yesterday evening.
in other sporting news, a local friend of mine's kid is a senior in high school. she's graduating in december so she can enroll early at michigan state and get a jump on her collegiate soccer career. she signed an academy contract with dc power (professional club in a new first division women's league) last week and started and played 90 minutes for them this evening. she's 17. that's pretty badass.
In much less impressive news (but exciting for me), my daughter gets back on the diamond for the first time in 3 years tomorrow night. She played, and was pretty good, at baseball for a couple years. But she was 1 of 2 girls and the boys annoyed her and the allure of playing on an all girls team drew her back to soccer. After 3 years of comp soccer she stopped last winter. This summer she said she'd like to give softball a shot (again all girls) in addition to her travel volleyball. She's still shaking the rust off but she's got ability. I just need to work with her on some of the finer points. Excited to see her play. Not excited about those shitty ridged bleachers.
