Who doesn't want a little Teej Thursday filler? I think it was about a year ago that we participated in a similar captioning exercise with me behind a podium outside the Capitol. Similar proximity, slightly different shot(s). Have at it, folks...

ReplyDeleteFor those out of the baseball loop, the Mets did exactly what they needed to do over 3 games against the Nationals. They sit 2 games better than the Braves and tied with the Dbacks for the 2nd wild card spot in the NL.
ReplyDeleteNow comes the hard as shit part. Phillies in town for 4 critical games. One at a time, boys. Here we go.

ReplyDelete“great day for brest!”
ReplyDeleteshohei ohtani got his 50th (and 51st) steal and his 49th and 50th homers in a game where he went 5-for-5 and drove in 7 runs. king shit.
ReplyDeletein other news, the feds seized 784 dildos from diddy's house.
ReplyDeletesincere apologies. ohtani hit another homer. 6-for-6, 3 hr, 2 2b, 2 sb, 4 runs, 10 rbi. quite possibly the greatest offensive game in the history of baseball.
ReplyDeletebought some carolina reaper pickle chips from a local vendor at a brewery over the weekend, so i've been giving myself periodic mouthzings for the past few days. a little capsaicin is good for the soul.
ReplyDeleterob already landed here, but go find Ohtani highlights. Guy hits absolutely majestic shots, steals bases and plays with enviable joy. And he hasn't pitched at all this season. One of one.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting 10 or 15 years from now when the media and jingoist Guardians of Baseball contort themselves into crullers parsing why he isn't the best who ever played.
As I mentioned here last week, I had covid. I'm pretty much better now save for a little lingering fatigue. Problem is, my wife got covid this week. Been a loooong two weeks in this house.
ReplyDeleteHang tough, Mark. It’ll be over soon!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I keep telling myself and I'm definitely much better. I've been at the gym and getting my normal workout in (except for power walking instead of running) and played tennis this morning for the first time on almost two weeks. Definitely didn't have my usual wind.
ReplyDeleteRIP Michael Valentine. Thanks to him I have the radar detector to show me where the cops is.
ReplyDeletethanks to my daily baseball gambling with marls and whit and some layup champions league parlays, i’ve had a pretty good wagering week. it’ll close even better if ‘cuse and nebraska cover this evening.
ReplyDeletei am just a really lousy football bettor. guess i'll stick to jai alai.
ReplyDeleteHere’s your college football picks of the week:
ReplyDeleteMissouri -18 vs Vandy
NC State +18 at Clemson
Coastal Carolina 3.5 vs UVa
I’m really good at this!!
ReplyDeletejmu hung a fitty-burger on carolina. in chapel hill. in the first half.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of defense being played in Chapel Hill today.
ReplyDeleteMississippi State’s QB is a Van Buren Jr. the Van Buren Boys are still alive!
*backup QB*
ReplyDeleteI also bet on NC State. Idiot.
ReplyDeleteNext up: USC - 4 and Utah -1..feel free to go the other way.
wild ending in boulder. tried to climb a fence in the rain and slipped. kid laughed at me. wife was chagrined. game was fun, too.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun game. I was trying to go to bed but CU had other ideas. Glad to see Rob is still a kid at heart
ReplyDeleteWith as late as I stayed up I’d really like to be asleep but our new dog had other ideas. F1 on the couch it is.
