Everyone should have cool sneakers. And by that I mean sneakers that make you happy when you put them on. I'm not particularly trendily or well dressed above the ankles, but my shoe game it tight. I'm not afraid to wear some questionable stuff on my feet, and Mark is even farther our there than I am. In what might become a recurring bit, I will suggest a couple shoes you should consider adding to your rotation.
Anyone can rock Stan Smiths, and I firmly believe everyone should have at least one pair of them. These are currently marked down to $48 so the risk factor is low. They're not your standard Stans but no one should lack the confidence to wear them.
Chalk white nubuck uppers with a translucent gray sole? Yes please.
Also on sale at adidas are these Stan Smiths in Primeknit. Get them now for $66 and you're all set for the summer.
If you're feeling confident and you don't plan on encountering bad weather, consider these brown velvet Stan Smiths for $60.
this is an excellent recurring bit that's going to cost me a lot of money
ReplyDeleteand your tribe kicks off conference season with back to back games at hofstra today and tomorrow. w&m are 10-point dogs against the defending champs. take the pride, give the points. it could be an ugly weekend on the island.
ReplyDeleteI tried to get the baby blue Adidas Spezial sneakers, but they don’t have my size anywhere.
ReplyDeleteWhite sneakers ain’t my thing. I like my sneakers to match my clothes (or at least not clash a ton), so I don’t get too crazy w/ colors. I wore Campers a lot in my younger hipster days. Those were the shit.
I have the primeknit Stan Smiths in the traditional colors. They are in regular rotation during the spring and summer.
ReplyDeleteZ sent me a link today to the old Bo Jackson trainers that are now available on the Nike site. I’m flush with fantasy football champion cash so I’ll probably pull the trigger on those.
nailed the tribe line. ish.
ReplyDelete#TribeSharp
ReplyDeletedespite the tribe only losing by 5 yesterday, today's line is hofstra -11. i don't know what to make of that. so let's go with under 142. 'cause the tribe can't score.
ReplyDeletemy 19 y/o woke up this morning with a bad sore throat, fever, and aches. docs ruled out strep and tested her for covid. we'll find out in 2-5 days. not ideal, especially since i sat right next to her at dinner last night.
ReplyDeleteWife and I had to get a COVID test on Xmas eve because a friend of ours had it and we’d had an outdoor dinner with them a few days earlier. Thankfully we are able to get a rapid test at the local urgent care.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to all, Rob.
Happy New Year, y’all! We had great time in OBX ~
ReplyDeleteHope the COVID-possible return negative! And here’s to hoping vaccine distribution ramps-up and this year is better for us all and the world!
Sports question —anyone see the kickoff of Bears/Packers? Why do they get the ball on the 40 yard line? Haven’t seen this before.
Well, 2021 isn’t quite starting as I would’ve hoped. I tested positive for COVID today.
ReplyDeleteJeez. Sorry to hear that Whit. Hope you’re feeling ok.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Sorry to hear it Whit. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteAh shit, Whit. Hope you’re doing OK, and kick this things ass fast.
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys. Appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteWow. Not the start I was looking for from you lads! My family had a small scare last week. A neighbor we saw tested positive 4-5 days later. We hunkered down and got tests and were lucky enough to be negative.
ReplyDeleteToday is Day 0 of my dry January. Decided to have some last cocktails over the w/e. My wife hates when I do this b/c I get high strung and don’t like making plans w/ anybody.
Good luck to you and your families!
Donna - I think the issue is that if the person fielding the kickoff is standing out of bounds in any way when fielding the kick, it’s a penalty on the kicking team. The refs decided Patterson was touching the line when touching the ball. Weird way to start the game for sure.
ReplyDeleteSam Sloman!
ReplyDeleteThanks, TR. Weird.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your news, Whitney. Hope you recover quickly and with little difficulty! Lots of rising cases in 757, like everywhere. Oy!
Damn Whit. Hope you deal with it ok, and the folks around you too.
ReplyDeleteSteph has 50+. 60 is easily in sight.
ReplyDeleteThis Iggles-WTF game makes me long to drink enough to forget that I decided to watch it.
ReplyDeletePederson is a disaster.
62 on a total heat check.
ReplyDeleteThe reaction of the Warriors’ bench was priceless. They were running around like 8 y/o kids. So good for the NBA if Draymond is healthy and Steph is 100%.
