Just watched the Queen and Adam Lambert Story on Netflix. Worth watching. Adam is a solid cat, genuine and GD talented. That guy Brian though...I don't know what to think. Can't wait for the Whitney review.
watched the beastie boys doc/oral history this evening. it's basically a love poem to yauch and friendship, and a story of men growing from dipshit misogynists to thoughtful citizens of the world. so, essentially, g:tb with more funding.
This should probably be its own post, but the fam and I are almost done with the first and only season of Freaks and Geeks. We’ve watched 15 of 18 episodes. The show is equal parts funny, heartwarming and tragic. Great chance for my kids to see the underbelly of high school.
I watched a few episodes back in the day and had a huge crush on Lindsay Weir. The show displays Apatow’s chops in a big way. Martin Starr’s character is a savage.
To close the loop with the prior comment, the music is fantastic in the show, and Joe Jackson gets some well-deserved run.
I wish it were true dawg. 'Twas the Wonder Years I spoke of which we are almost done with despite the seasons back then being comprised of 20+ episodes. Freaks and Geeks would be a good one to follow it up with.
While I’m throwing out thank yous, I’ll send another one Whit’s way for the JGB/Clemons show from ‘89. Really great show. I don’t love their take on Someday Baby, but everything else kicks ass. Was an awesome soundtrack for a long bike ride last week.
tragic story about the federal judge in north brunswick who's son and husband were shot by an intruder. given dave's dad's proximity to the court system, wondering if he knew them.
Finally went for the MRI for my car accident last week. Between a broken MRI machine and a vacation it was significantly delayed. Went to meet the MD to go over the results today. I have two additional herniated discs (C6 & C7). Suboptimal result. I’ve had relatively minor issues since the accident and I’m thankful for that. A little worried for the long term.
Oh, and I have a torn/frayed labrum in my right shoulder. I think that’s more from general wear and tear over the years as opposed to the accident but again, suboptimal.

I think it was Danimal who brought up the show and reminded me. So thanks, homeboy.

ReplyDeleteFreaks and Geeks is awesome. I’m glad there wasn’t a season 2. The ending is completely satisfying as-is.
ReplyDeleteI loved Freaks and Geeks back in the day. Definitely worth a rewatch

ReplyDeleteIs that the judge who was set to preside over an Epstein/Deutsche Bank case?
ReplyDeletewe didn't know them-- i think she was a federal judge, but quite a tragedy . . .
ReplyDeleteShe is a federal judge. Attacking judges and their families cannot become a thing.
