Fulfilling Our Obligation

For those of you that haven't perused the G:TB By-Laws recently, allow me to refresh your memories. Section 9, paragraph 7 is unequivocal. When Old 97s release a new record, we're duty-bound to feature a track from it. And I'm not one to fuck with the By-Laws.

The new album is cleverly named Twelfth, as it is the band's 12th studio record. Whitney does not care much for the album cover.

  2. Hey unrelated to post, but know some of you are DC-area people, especially VA-side...any of you know people selling houses in Alexandria/Arlington-Springfield area and/or realtors who are solid to help a great family seeking to move basically now. Between now and start of school. He’s been transferred to Pentagon. They’re in area and can move immediately now. Haven’t had offers they’ve made stock so far.

  3. Donna - we can make a recommendation, but I think Teej is the best person to go to on this.

  4. I know a really cool guy who is about to sell his house in NJ. It's a bit of a schlep to the Pentagon but you would live three blocks from TR.

  6. Good one, Z. Doesn't make me jagged... it makes me jealous that fans of that football team don't have to deal with a stupidly offensive team name.

  7. Ah, the Red Rocker... so when he plays a show and nobody attends, he's gonna blame the virus, right?

  8. Can someone please start booking the Ted Nugent - Sammy Hagar Summer 2020 tour.

Playing “I Can’t Drive...55” to own the libs could be the most Murica’ thing in the history of Murica.

The first time that I got it
I was just ten years old
I got it from the lady next door
I went and see the Dr. but there wasn’t a cure
I think I got it some more
    They give me co-vid fever
    Co-Vid fever

  9. He'll probably blame the alarmist NY Times "How the Virus Won" piece with all of the scary moving graphics.

  12. That's the one that's messing with the Red Rocker's crowds. It's weird how something can be visually beautiful and horrifying at the same time.

  13. Sammy Hagar makes the documentary Van Halen: The Early Years look and sound super professional with brilliantly thoughtful execution.

  14. Hello from the epicenter of COVID-19. I’d say that we’re edging toward shutting everything back down but we’re governed a Trump lackey so it’s likely we won’t shut anything down until it’s far too late. Good times. At least I’m overly stocked up on medical marijuana.

  15. I think a lot of southerners need to be scared straight before they’ll follow rules. Unfortunately, that will mean thousands of deaths.

Houston in the same boat. It has Anderson Medical Center, one of the largest hospital complexes in the world. ICU is at 97% capacity citywide.

Hard to see how the NBA can pull this off in Orlando.

  16. The bubble is a major issue. None of the staff on site will be quarantined. So there’s so major issues already. And Orlando is in the midst of a major spike.

I don’t think it’s a southern thing. That’s too easy. Arizona isn’t the south. Nor is Texas. It’s a symptom of state governments beholden to our incompetent federal government.

Many are following the rules down here. Unfortunately it’s being offset by young people and dipshits who hate science.

  17. Can’t wait to hear about the virus outbreak in Liverpool. That city went apeshit tonight.

And it’s encouraging to watch Pulisic tear shit up.
