I went against my thought (and Marls) earlier today and took the first half over. Then the game under and Clemson +6.5 once it got there earlier this afternoon. Listened to the Stanford Steve and The Bear podcast at the gym and their logic seemed sound.
A few player props too. Lawrence over 299 passing. Burrow under 367 passing. Edwards-Hellaire under 99.5 rushing but over 4.5 receptions.
I’m sure I’ll end up losing a bunch or approaching even.
Missed a good chunk of the first half because I had my old man basketball league championship game tonight. Undefeated league champs...and a mysterious heel injury that sprang up after my 30 minute drive home.
Gonna celebrate with a drink or two too many. Between the dehydration and the abnormally late Monday it’s not likely to be a spring in my step sort of Tuesday morning.
Hate to agree with you but you’re probably right, TR. That TD drive to end the half looms large. Two huge 3rd down conversions that will haunt Clemson all offseason if they don’t come back.
Good Lord. This game is going to end closer to 1 than 12. I’m old but the majority of big time postseason games in all the major sports finish after midnight and that’s a bit ridiculous.
Thanks, TR. I don’t even pretend on dry January. I need a little booze on the weekends. The CFB National Championship game always being on a Monday is rough.
LSU’s secondary isn’t great but they’re physical and athletic. that’s made big difference tonight. Clemson Has stud athletes out wide but not necessarily technique heavy route runners.
Going to bed. I must say I love the Coach O redemption story. Blind Side didn’t do him any favors. May have been justifiable, but I love a comeback story. And my whole family is enamored w/ the way he speaks.
That is amazing. I bet there is a very unflattering set of outtakes.
ReplyDeleteIn an alternate life, I would've done a lot more mountain biking.

ReplyDeleteNo idea why Cory Booker couldn't get any traction.
ReplyDeleteruh roh, rastros
ReplyDeleteand, i should add, ruh roh red sox
ReplyDeleteThat was Zman’s best joke in a long time.
ReplyDeleteLots of excitement here for the game, I see.
ReplyDeleteClemson money line fell from +180 to +170. I bit on it.
i see you, coors light. i don’t see why lsu has had trouble lining up on defense twice now.
ReplyDeleteQuite a few viewing options on the world wide leader.

I wish I could’ve gotten Clemson +6.5. But may be moot. Burrow has that O rolling. Maybe Clemson wants to double-team Chase at some point?

ReplyDelete“Analytics” being by “football guys” when it’s just basic, smart math is pretty annoying.

ReplyDeleteNobody’s up with me? This game is fun.
My wallet is happy that Burrow is clearly hurt. But I like that dude. Lawrence and Etienne need to get things done.
ReplyDeleteSuper sad to see Earl Campbell. He did not look good.
I’m with you, Mark. Me and some Monday bourbon. Dry January did not pan out.
ReplyDeleteThe targeting rule needs tiers like the old face mask penalty. Unintentional and egregious. Only the latter merits an ejection.

ReplyDeleteIt’s my favorite sport to watch. I’m always going to watch and have a few.
ReplyDeleteLSU’s secondary has shut down Clemson’s WRs all night. No way they can come back. Lawrence has to force things.

ReplyDeleteLSU scores too much for most. Really weird to say that with the historical perspective of the last couple of decades.
