The weather here in the National Capital region is, in a word, dismal. Rain, wind, high 40s/low 50s. And I'm getting on a plane at 6:15 tomorrow morning to fly to Minneapolis for three days, where the forecast highs don't get out of the 30s, and another snowstorm is predicted for Wednesday.
I spent the early afternoon on the sidelines, coaching soccer in a driving rainstorm, and so I'm thoroughly chilled.
But all is well, because I got to listen to a big chunk of Annie Clark's Coachella set on the way home after the match. And she fucking brought it.
So enjoy Masseduction here, and see if you can find the full set. She's amazing, and I now have a bucket list goal to see her live. Let me know if you wanna go with.
Baseball is harder to follow when everyone's wearing the same number.
ReplyDeleteMy kids like the Sandler movies, and they like Napoleon Dynamite. I thought letting them watch Blades of Glory (PG-13) would be okay. It was not okay. Not at all.
ReplyDeleteI almost pulled a muscle leaping for the remote when one character said “Tell him you were getting your juggs waxed.” I subsequently had to mute the whole scene when Will Ferrell’s character goes to his sex addict meeting, before deciding to pull the plug altogether.
While cleaning a dead hornets nest out of my family room window and dealing with the broken storm pane that allowed the hornets to gain entry I dropped a forceful "cocksucker!!!" in front of my 3.99 y/o daughter. Not my finest moment in parenting.
ReplyDeletei failed on that front a long time ago. my 16 year-old dropped her first curse word when she was 18 months old, and she lets loose more f-bombs than i do. which is a not insignificant number.
ReplyDeleteI openly curse in front of my kids. Not a regular stream but I don’t go out of my way to hold back.
ReplyDeleteAnd the weather in Florida has been beautiful in case you were wondering. Warm enough for the beach or pool but not yet stiflingly humid.
On the weather/cursing topic - Fuck you Mark for highlighting FL weather. It was 38 degrees w/ 15-20 mph winds during my kid's 2 PM soccer game. I pulled the plug on his 5 PM travel baseball game, when the temp was expected to dip in lockstep w/ rain starting.
ReplyDeleteNo offense, of course. Just an FU for my life, to be honest.
could be worse. you could be getting ready to run the boston marathon, with a forecast for 40 degree temps, pouring rain, and 35 mph winds. #noneformethanks
ReplyDeleteSE VA was 79° today, so fuck me, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was ringside for Rob’s daughter dropping a perfect GD as a toddler. Bourbon came out my nose when it happened.
RIP Milos Forman yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAnd R. Lee Ermey today.
And you know who tomorrow.
Babs Babushka?
ReplyDeleteNever any offense taken, TR.
ReplyDeleteJust got back for my usual stint helping run the information booths at the start of the Boston marathon. It was a tad wet and cold this year. School fields are completely trashed and it looks like a a hurricane came through scattering clothes and 20,000 pairs of shoes everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOnly notable 'first' was two assholes peed, together, in the corner of the main info booth tent with about 50 of their closest friends. Volunteers didn't get their number and didn't tell me until after they left but it would have been sweet revenge to hear about them getting pulled right at the finish line to be DQ'ed. But no bib numbers, no revenge. Bastards.

Excellent and professional investigative services. I hired Mr Frank for a very private and difficult matter of hacking my husband's phone, and he far exceeded my expectations. He helped me get the info(whatsapp, facebook, text messages, call logs etc) I needed faster and cheaper than I had imagined. The first time we spoke, we had a very long phone consultation in which he gave me all my options that he could think of to resolve my case, and he even recommended I try other options before hiring him, which shows that he is honest. I decided to hire him and I am glad I did. He is a fantastic investigator and a great person and if you have a dishonest partner don't hesitate to send him a mail Contact: frankthegreathacker at g mail dot com. Eva Tito REFERRED YOU
That new Jack White album is pretty damn good. Sometimes it's like a cross between the Budos Band and "Check Your Head" era Beasties. Other times it's like Beck produced a Jamiroquai album. Someone should write a post about it.
ReplyDeleteHe was decent on SNL. Looks creepy these days, like he’s had some work done.
ReplyDeleteThis Sixers-Heat series is a lotta fun.
ReplyDeletepour out a little magic elixir for harry anderson
ReplyDeleteShit. I'm gonna have to play some Velvet Fog in honor of Judge Harry T. Stone.
ReplyDeleteI love Ian Eagle doing NBA on TNT. Big fan of that Jersey nerd.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Bush is really gonna step up his ass-grabbing game, now that Babs has passed.
