I feel strongly that the Jets will take Baker Mayfield at 3 b/c owner Woody Johnson still likes sizzle on the roster, and b/c the GM is hanging on to his job by a string. I feel even stronger that the pick will not work out.
Mayfield got busted running drunk from a cop last off-season. He still acted like a jackass this season. He is a jackass. NY will not be good for him.
I also think the Giants trade down from 2, which means the first 3 picks are all QBs.
I was going to do a draft post but I'm too stupid and lazy to do a good job. That said, I think Saquon Barkley at #2 is a bad idea for the Jints, given Eli's old age and their lack of a line, as well as the history of Penn State running backs drafted over the past 30 years:

If you're too lazy to click on the link, the punchline is this: 19 RBs drafted out of Penn State over 30 years (including Curtis Enis, Ki-Jana Carter, and Blair Thomas), and their total combined career rushing yardage is 13,951. Frank Gore has more than that all by himself.
I would be happy if the Bills wind up with Baker Mayfield or really any legitimate QB prospect that doesn't cause Teedge to make the BiLOLs call.
And the Giants's first round RB picks over the last 30 years: Ron Dayne, Tyrone Wheatley, Rodney Hampton, Jarrod Bunch, David Wilson. So they don't exactly have a track record of killing it with first round RBs either.
lots of interesting info in here. this may be the most interesting nugget:
"Although the scrotum was transplanted, the donor’s testes had been removed for ethical reasons: Keeping them might enable the recipient to father children that belonged genetically to the organ donor, something not considered acceptable by medical guidelines."
The Bills turned the #21, 22, 53 and 56 picks into an inaccurate late-bloomer QB and a 19-year-old skinny LB. Should I be happy about this? It seems so Billsy.

Twitter is abuzz this morning claiming the Cleveland is going to take Mayfield first overall.
ReplyDeleteWell Z, the Pinhook was quite enjoyable as was my meal at Valley Smoke.
ReplyDeleteAnd speakin of Smoke...Whitney is bringing a 29 year old to his h.s. reunion? Well played sir. Well played. I have a nephew that is that old.
never forget, the Fresh Prince was cruisin' with 12 year old runaways long before R. Kelly
ReplyDeleteto TR's point, no matter who the Jets take tonight they will be an industrial dumspter fire within two seasons
ReplyDeletefor all we know, Lamar Jackson will be Browning Nagle 2.0 if drafted by the Jetropolitans

ReplyDeleteWhy does the first team get more than two minutes to pick? They've had months to think about this.
ReplyDeletelololololol
ReplyDeleteHoly shit the Jets are gonna get Darnold
ReplyDeleteI love Barkley. Wish he wasn’t behind that shit line for the Giants.
ReplyDeleteDarnold is screwed.
Sal Palantonio got dressed in the dark.
ReplyDeleteBrowns are gonna Browns
ReplyDeleteI really, really wanted Chubb or Nelson for Tampa. Feels like they’ll be one pick too late.
ReplyDeleteDammit. Trade back if possible.
ReplyDeleteTwo second round picks? Why thank you, Buffalo.
ReplyDeleteTrading up for Josh Allen? Very Billsy.
ReplyDeleteOh Buffalo, not like this
ReplyDeletedid you guys hear about this?

Josh Allen is the guy with the racist tweets, right?
ReplyDeletewtf are the Saints doing?
ReplyDeleteThat was...odd.
ReplyDeleteBills don’t give a fuck either. Making moves.
ReplyDeleteTremaine Edmunsds’ Windsor tie inspiration is clearly Merrill Hoge, who is currently living in a cave w/ Ron Jaworski.
ReplyDeleteSuzy Kolber looks pretty good tonight. She’s 53.
ReplyDeleteNobody wants a Game 7 in this Celts-Bucks series. Boston needs to put this away so they can go on and get crushed by Philly.
ReplyDeleteTaking a RB with the second pick is so 1985.
ReplyDeleteCaps gonna Caps

ReplyDeleteI forgot to include the #65 pick in that list. Five picks that could've yielded starters.
ReplyDeleteThe second pick in the 1985 NFL draft was Bill Fralic, a Guard. Great call, Marls.
ReplyDeleteFralic’s greatest moment ever (according to me) was being a jobber in the Wrestlemania 2 battle royale.
There’s a town in Illinois called Dongola. That is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteYou know the Pats will get Lamar Jackson and he'll be good.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking more in spirit than in fact, TR.
ReplyDeleteHow did you find the Dongola tidbit?
