I too am hangover-free, preparing for a big night on Saturday. I may go for a run in a bit. Unfortunately, the gym is closed today, so nautilus for this guy.
Happy New Year, Gheorghies! I think 2016 should be the year we try for another large scale G:TB Summit.
I'm relatively hangover free as I had to pick up the 14 year old at 10:30. I had a couple whiskeys after that but all in all it was a quiet night. My gym is closed today too but I've sprung for the 24/7 key pass so I went this morning. Just hit the local Irish pub for brunch.
Any picks for today, Danimal?
I like Tennessee -8.5 and the under. I think Florida loses (though I won't bet it) but I'll bet the under (41). I also like Notre Dame +6.5 and the under in the Rose Bowl.
I'm a little gun shy after yesterday's o'fer. But I too like nd to cover. It isn't often BK doesn't play to his competition, both when it is better and weaker than his squad. I think they'll have a chance to win it at the end. Didn't bet on this UT game but SEC > BIG10...
That is with an asterisk. First one was a cute 8oz bud lite. The wife bought them on accident. Couldn't feel worse for Jaylon Smith. So unfair. And now the guy that replaced him, a freshman, is hurt. Nd's d is littered with 3rd stringers.
36 events in 2016. Fees range from $5 to $108. They also charge the spectators....$15 for adults and $5 for kids. Quick and fuzzy math: 36 events @ 3000 participants and spectators per event @ mixed fee of $50 = $5.4M in gross revs. What's it cost to sponsor the Fiesta Bowl? Gotta me a mil or 2 no? Anyone help with that?
Yes. A lot of these small oddball companies have venture backing and big loans. Machine Zone sells Game of War and the other game wi the Schwarzaneggar ads. Their model is to blow every cent they have on advertising, hence Kate Upton and Mariah Carey (and the aforementioned Governator). If they have any money leftover at the end of the year, they have failed. Battlefrog might have a similar approach.
tough one for your tribe tomorrow, as charleston comes to town fresh off a road win at jmu. really need this one, as two of the next three are against northeastern and charleston again. a loss tomorrow and we're looking at the real possibility of a 1-4 conference start. that would be suboptimal.
wow, i too am a hangover free gheorghie-- went to bed at 10 PM s we could beat the crowds on the slopes. no people at stratton until 10:30 AM, then all the yahoos shook off their hangovers and starting clogging up the very few trails that were open. then ian hit his head pretty hard at the tippy top of the mountain, which was mainly ice, fog, and wind, and it was a LONG and slow trip to the bottom. i need to get out west again, this vermont snowboarding is treacherous.
Iowa's offense is unbelievably impotent this afternoon.
Wife and I had to stay sober last night due to her work event but we made up for it today. The end result is me drunk on the couch watching football and her in the kitchen whipping up some spinach and broccoli enchilladas.
New Year's Day got the best of most of the G:TBers it seems. Can't blame you. The games have been awful today. Well, except for the Individual brilliance of Laqon Treadwell and Christian McCaffrey.
To puke or not to puke, that is the question .. Happy New Year, all!
ReplyDeleteAlmost forgot, Happy Hew Year, Gheorghies!
ReplyDeleteDrinking whiskey for the better part of the eve was poor decision making.
ReplyDeletei was on duty to pick up my daughter from a friend's house at 12:30. i haven't been this hangover-free on new year's day in decades.
ReplyDeleteDabo Swinney sounds like a name for a Star Wars character.

ReplyDeleteI went out harder than i meant to on 12/30 so I was sober last night and got a pre-zkid-like 10 hours of sleep. I will feel awful in 36 hours though.
ReplyDeleteNew Years 5K in the books. Slow but the heart did not explode. 2016 is awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a thing to me, Rob. They made a movie about it that's highly rated. I think It was a recent release.

RIP Natalie Cole & Trapper John MD.
ReplyDeleteWow....Jaylon Smith. Man. God I hope he is okay.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about this game anymore.
ReplyDeleteHow was the Fiesta Bowl fucked in the whole playoff process and who let the Cotton Bowl sneak back into the picture?
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a fucking blowout.
ReplyDeleteFlorida looks exactly like I thought they would. Which is to say...shitty.
ReplyDeletewhat is a battlefrog? also, outdoor hockey!
ReplyDeleteIt's another obstacle course based racing circuit. I'm gonna guess they don't have many $'s left in the 2016 marketing budget.
ReplyDeleteI love the AT&T commercials.
ReplyDeleteHave rallied and am on my second beer.

ReplyDeleteFlorida. Thanks for showing up.
ReplyDeleteIf I'd have known it was going to be like this if have had more to drink at brunch.
I'd have more to drink. Shit, maybe I'll start again.
ReplyDeleteO'fer 4 now on the wkd.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mark on the big Gheorghefest. Another suite for Wiz game?
ReplyDelete2 hours old boy touch rugby this am followed by 3 hours at Vienna Inn. Where's my Motrin?
Can't remember such a shitty streak of bowl outcomes. Every game has sucked.
