Open Thread: Travel Edition

Our tiny dictator is spending the weekend in New Orleans while the Teej is kickin' it out in Vancouver. Hopefully Rob has been reliving one of his greatest drinking performances ever and the Teej is using as many Strange Brew Lines as he can.

  1. Canadians are way too friendly. It's disconcerting.

  2. How you digging that dollar/loony exchange rate, Teej?

  3. I forgot they rock the dollar and two dollar coin nonsense, so was thrown off by that...as for the exchange rate, working out nicely, tho everything is on work so it doesn't really matter.

  8. Rob, if you leave you jacket on a cigarette machine in New Orleans and think it will be fine because you can see it, it won't. Just saying.

  10. gheorghies, hello. just met chris rock and olivia wilde. they say hello. more importantly, they say 'holy shit, woody's rampage is a killer live band'.

  12. Watching the ND game from last night. Good stuff! Of course they probably won't make it to the Sweet 16 but that's ok. What I'm most happy about is to not see Brey donning a mock turtleneck.

  13. Wilde's actual last name is Cockburn. Why would she change that?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Did she dump Suedikis to make the Rock cock burn?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I had Cockburn once and want to part of that shit ever agan, no matter how allegedly beautiful.

  16. Singer / songwriter Bruce Cockburn pronounces it "Coburn". What the hey? If you have a name like that, flaunt it.

    Also, he's Canadian. Full circle!

  17. Speaking of which I saw a fake-me-out-Coby in Vegas.

  18. I do not like Notre Dame but I thoroughly enjoy watching this years Notre Dame basketball team play. Also, I loathe Roy Williams so last nights game was enjoyable.

  20. very bullish on to-go cups. every city should have this.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is a true statement. That's one of the most underrated aspects of Ft. Lauderdale. Which is a highly underrated city.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lauderdale has go-cups?? Added incentive to do a spring training trip.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mark, you are closer to the action and may be right but I thought Lauderdale started cracking down on the go cup/open container last year.

  24. Maybe they did, Marls. I haven't been down there in a couple years. That's disappointing if true.

  26. I'm still sad that we're not watching the Tribe wait for their seeding in the tourney as the brackets are unveiled...

  27. I think the CAA winner was going to be slotted into that 3-14 game no matter what. ND/Tribe it Pittsburgh would have been fun.

  28. My sister & I run a tourney pool every year. It's $10. Winner usually gets $200-$250. If anyone's interested let me know.

  29. tribe headed to tulsa on tuesday

  30. Tulsa is very close to NW Arkansas...

And, this "I hate Laettner" 30 for 30 is really good.

  31. Also, to come full circle...that UK/Duke game was the night of my spring formal--went to the dance really late b/c of that game (I was a Duke fan back then)

Had ZERO to drink that night...learned my lesson

  32. The night of that UK-Duke game, I was gonna double date w/ another couple w/ my new high school girlfriend. It was gonna be the first night my lady friend and I would fully utilize the amenities of my Dodge Caravan, right after we saw the early screening of White Men Can't Jump. Needless to say, the other guy and I put all plans on hold, agreeing there was no way we could walk away from the game, even if it meant no sexy time. I don't regret it.

  34. You all are probably sick of my snow updates but Boston finally broke the all time record for snowfall with 106.9" + 2".

The really crazy number is 90" fell in 30 days.

I'm thinking I will still have snow on the ground until the marathon which is April 20th this year. April, that's right.
