Terrible Father's Day Post Topic
Sad news from the world of absurdist British comedy programs of our youth. Actor Rik Mayall, best known in the U.S. for his portrayal of Rick in The Young Ones, died yesterday at the age of 56. May heaven be full of telescopes with mice in them.
z pulled the one misstep out of bronbron's presser in his comment last night. i thought the rest of it was pretty great - bron was accountable, relatable, and honest. i really like that dude.
Happy Father's Day, guys. I am celebrating on your behalf with a barbecue and US Open. Not that I'm rooting against him, but it would be nice for Kaymer to double bogey his first hole to make this interesting.
I'm with ya mayhugh...I'm currently in 1st place in our little pool at work. Despite first, I'm down a C-note due to missed cuts and other bullshit I agreed to. If I don't win today, I'm going to break things. Am home from Peenhurst - heading to pool. Full viewing later. Happy Father's Day all.
What a finish - Switzerland/Ecuador. Switzerland played the last five or so minutes of regular and stoppage time really conservatively. Ecuador looked like they were going to pull it off and somehow Switzerland took it coast to coast really without numbers. Unbelievable.
Celebrating with a late lunch consisting of Bells Two Hearted, Bookers bourbon, lamb burger, poutine (with potato croquettes substituted for fries) and fried pickles. Not a bad Sunday.
Greg is at Busch Stadium today and sent me a pic. I forwarded it on to my Dad who quickly responded by saying 'Tell him he better not jinx us. We're going for a sweep.' My crusty, bitter Dad is the best.

ReplyDeleteSo if they show the chapel again or if you hear the bells during airing of the Open, know that yours and his wife tied the knot there.

Ginobili just made me scream in excitement. Wow.
ReplyDeletecan't believe I'm saying this, but...I actually feel bad for LBJ. His team aged 10 years on him over a few weeks. They are useless.
ReplyDeleteand, Kawhi may be my new favorite non-Wizards player not named Kevin Durant or Ray Allen
just left graffiato in a haze of pork and bourbon. apparently sports are also happening this evening.
ReplyDeleteEAD LBJ
ReplyDeleteJust think, Shlara. Your Wiz chose Jan Vesely over Kawhi. That Ernie Grunfeld sure knows how to pick em
ReplyDeletemarls seems to have misspelled dwyane
ReplyDeleteTeej--are you trying to make me mad tonight???
ReplyDeleteValar morghulis.
