Happy Weekend

Here's a little joy for you on this holiday weekend morn. Irish rugby star Brian O'Driscoll recently brought the Heineken Cup to visit a young girl in the hospital. Awesome ensued:

  2. Anyone in/near the nation's capital on Monday afternoon, come see me be Abraham Lincoln again. It's . . . well, ask Rob. It's silly.

  4. I have never read A Confederacy of Dunces. I'm feeling like I should based on the excitement/trepidation over it being converted to a film.

Also, I hung out on the beach all day, swam and got drunk. Memorial Day weekend in Florida is great.

  8. making "confederacy" into a movie is a bigger risk than making "catcher in the rye," because "confederacy" is a better book. i hope they succeed, but i am full of doubt.

i also hung out on the beach all day-- skimboarding and playing in the water with my kids, and though the water was 58, it was still better than hanging out in my backyard, which is humid as all fuck. and now i am getting drunk.

memorial day in jersey is bearable.

  9. Rob asked me to write something for the Western Conference Finals. I agreed. Then I spent all day on the beach yesterday, went home and got way too drunk and followed it up by hanging out at Vitas' pool and drinking all day today. So, I'm still going to write a Western Conference Finals post but not until before Game 2. Blame Memorial Day weekend, and alcohol.

I did buy a new surfboard today though.

  10. The 4th quarter of this game is why I'll take the Spurs in this series. More experience, better coaching and a more diversified offense. Spurs in 6.

  13. Anyone in the DC area with nothing better to do today, turn on channel 5 (WTTG) at 2:00 and watch the National Memoial Day Parade. I'll be on the screen in the early going.

It's also on the Pentagon Channel at 4, but most folks don't get that.
