With the sixth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards selected...Jan Vesely of the Czech Republic. I like to affectionately call him "Airwolf". I even made this pic to show my love:
I love this guy.
Via Steinbog, check this quote out:
“I don’t know, I think Blake Griffin is American Jan Vesely.”
This blog desperately needs a photoshop expert. Not it.
ReplyDeleteWe sure do...
ReplyDeleteHey Ron Artest, World B. Free wants his gimmick back.
ReplyDeleteIs Greg sitting in TJ's cubicle and commenting on G:TB? I hope so. Either way, nice to have him back.
ReplyDeleteAlso, pretty awesome of the Wiz to invite staff members from the Czech embassy to last night's draft party.
That would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat graphic is the saddest thing ever posted on Gheorghe. So bad it's veryvery good.
ReplyDeleteIt's been Music Week down here on the Southside (different from Music Month here at G:TB). Last night I saw the Drive-By Truckers at the Norva, and as usual, they crushed it. Highlight was a rousing rendition of "Where the Devil Don't Stay." See them if you can.
ReplyDeleteSomebody should tell the Sports Guy that Blake and Taylor Griffin aren't twins. They just went pro in the same year b/c Blake came out early.
ReplyDeleteWiffs like that give him zero credibility when talking about the draft.
Well, Deadspin will be sure to point out such a faux pas...
ReplyDeleteFor the NYC-area dads who want their daughters to end up on a stripper pole one day:

finally saw vesely's kiss - his lady friend has got to be at least 6'4". that both frightens and intrigues me.
ReplyDeleteWord is she was standing ona chair, Rob. Hope that settles you a bit.
ReplyDeletetony shaver's 'stache is the undisputed champion now:

airwolf's pic of the heli is just bad. it's a toy. in the defense of gtb's photo editor, it's not your fault.
ReplyDeleteWait, that's not a real helicopter. TJ, I take it back you have mad photoshop skillz.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Blaine Taylor's mustache-shaving made the front page of the local sports section. Either a good sign that 'staches are gaining momentum or a bad sign for the local ragsheet.
ReplyDeletei'll be at my cousin's wedding reception during the usa/mexico game this evening. i'll need one of you to text me updates. thanks in advance, homies.
ReplyDeleteAirwolf's girlfriend is apparently also a baller:

Warning---humble bragging alert: boss gave me 2 tix to U2 this Wed in Miami. Going w a Winchester buddy and fellow u2 fan. Boss had 6 tix in a suite as he is a dolphins season tick holder.anyway, just found out thru his asst that the remaining 4 are going to clients (2 clients and their wives) one of which I know but not well.
ReplyDeleteThinking about selling the tix and sitting w the commoners or find similar seating. Battling w this. Would that be f'd up if I did that? Note: boss was a college buddy...my age...not typical boss....
Concert would have been a serious bender- if I go to suite I will need to act like a mature 41 year old and pay some attention to people I don't really want to pay attention to.
I ask for gtb's wisdom.
One other note...these tix were my 40th bday present last year.
ReplyDeleteIf your boss is cool and if there is no chance that his seasons will get pulled if you sell the tickets to donkeys who destroy the luxury box, then I would just trade them for the best seats I could find and get wasted without having to worry about the people around me.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...copy. need to find out if they know I'm going too. Hopefully not. If they do, its not a choice. Cheers.
