A double shot of Slipknot today. The bands seems a bit farcical with their jumpsuits and terrifying clown masks, but they are a pretty intense band. Their stage presence is phenomenal, if not typical for the metal world. The lead singer verbally abuses the crowd all show long (which the crowd eats up), and the band tries to incite violent moshing among the idiots in the crowd. The band features a drummer, two additional clown percussionists and a clown on the turntable. They have a BIG sound in person, with lots of drums to make you want to start stomping in your combat boots.
Here's an unofficial video for Surfacing:
And here's the official video for Duality, the one song you may know by them. The song may be overplayed to some, but it still kicks ass.
Happy Good Friday from the G:TB team.
I will admit that I am not fully versed in the musical stylings of Slipknot, but are those really considered "clown" masks?
ReplyDeleteAlso, happy earth day hippies.
ReplyDeleteWord is Larranaga is indeed going to Miami...
ReplyDeleteYou won't see me scratchin' my head in Mi-ammuh!
ReplyDeleteMoons over My Hammy?

ReplyDeleteYou should pose your question to Jim Larranaga, officially new coach of the Hurricanes, as this is exactly the reason he left Fairfax and took his talents to South Beach.
ReplyDeleteskateboard. i've got a little thing for avril lavigne.
ReplyDeletei've got a lutheran pastor following me on twitter. this seems...odd.
ReplyDeleteYour little thing is famously little.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow college football enough to speak knowledgeably and I'm too stupid to speak knowledgeably as a general matter, but wasn't Nick Fairley a force of nature at Auburn, and isn't his sudden slide down various talking heads' draft boards reminiscent of Warren Sapp's draft situation, and if so, shouldn't GMs take notice of history repeating and draft Fairley somewhere around the #3 spot, particularly if their team had the league's worst run defense for two or three consecutive years?
ReplyDeletenot as little as dave's. that shit's documented.
ReplyDeleteDanimal, you have some good John Waters-approved bars for me?
ReplyDeleteSwallow at the Hollow?
ReplyDeleteRam-den Yards?
ReplyDeleteDid I say Magerks? I meant Majerks.
ReplyDeleteAnd since when is John Waters gay?
ReplyDeleteClyde is so damn fly. Is that suit salmon?
ReplyDeleteI love Fairley too, Z. The biggest concerns with him are work ethic and his tendency to takes plays off. If memory serves, that wasn't the major issue with Sapp...drugs are bad, mmmkay.
ReplyDeleteBut, yes, I think more than a few GMs will regret passing on him. His first step is otherworldly and he's huge mountain of a man. So much more of a game changer than former top 5 pick and SEC DT, Glenn Dorsey. Who I predicted would underwhelm in the NFL after I watched Maurkice Pouncey battle him to a draw Baton Rouge as a freshman.
Nice of the Knicks to show up tonight.
I really don't enjoy watching the 2011 Orlando Magic. I will continue to watch them, but it's going to take some more liquor.
ReplyDeleteThings just got very interesting in the Magic-Hawks game. It has nothing to do with whiskey either.
ReplyDeleteHead butts and face palming.
That's a shitty loss.
ReplyDeleteAnd I get really, really annoyed when a guy who banks in a big shot acts like a badass. Come on man, you didn't mean to bank it. Asshole.
ReplyDeleteis it still considered bad form to sell your children?
ReplyDeleteFind a safe haven state rob....Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteRob, interested in a sign and trade? My youngest has an expiring contract.
ReplyDeleteBooker's + Indian food + Rondo + Jesus Shuttlesworth = heartburn.
ReplyDeleteZman, you're lucky it's only heartburn with that combo.
ReplyDeleteBaltimore has been overrun by Yankees fans. Which also means this bar has a lot of Rangers fans.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Sean Avery will definitely do something uniquely douchey in this third period if the score holds.
Bye bye Rangers...Neuvirth was awesome today.
ReplyDeleteCamden Yards, or tonight, Yankee Stadium South...
ReplyDeleteTurned on Dallas game and they were up 21 in the 3rd. Portland up 2 w 30 sec left.
ReplyDeleteNot a rum guy but was introduced to Ron Zacapa yesterday at 7 a.m. Bought a bottle yesterday and am enjoying some Danimal time with Ron.
ReplyDeleteBebe Neuvirth?
