i now need a rec...50th anniversary for the rents this wkd...their golden boy must give a toast. i got nothin and can't find anything online that doesn't require purchase. parents are more like mr. and mrs. costanza than they are the cleavers...otherwise it would be much easier signed, speechless in incester
Best meal I've had in DC the last three years was at Rasika. Its consistently the best restaurant in town. If money's no object, CityZen is excellent but its also very formal--so only go if you want a three hour plus dinner. I'm only luke warm on Central.
I love the bar (and the bar food) at The Source, but I wouldn't do dinner there. If you can't do Rasika, I'd either go with Bourbon Steak (in the Four Seasons in Georgetown--also has a great bar) or maybe try Againn, which is a new joint that is shooting to be a high end/trendy fish and chips joint and is actually very good, as odd as that sounds. I also enjoy Acadiana.
I ate at Art & Soul last week and it was very, very good, and I'll second Zaytinya, though I didn't recommend it because its tapas and two dudes going out for tapas is mildly awkward.
Thank you, Geoff, Shlara, Michael, and others. I am sure my dad will appreciate it.
D-train, to answer your question from before, I was at the Cowboy just one week ago. Had a Duke burger medium rare and several PBR's with little Vicky. It's still the same place -- a little nicer and cleaner, but what can you do?
i just don't want the kid to take a heater in the earhole every night. as much as the sound of that makes dan perk up and take notice, it won't get young bryce very far.

ReplyDeleted-train, thought Geoff was going to recommend this toast, so I'll do so in his stead.
