Guess what? Baseball still sucks...

Hopefully you can excuse my recent spell of absenteeism but, you see, I've been very busy. I mean, you can't just drive up to Bristol and murder Tim Kurkijan and John Kruk without a really solid plan and a reliable alibi. These things kinds of things takes lots of time to plan out. So, with that in mind, I'm taking today off in order to rest up a little and go over all the details of my upcoming "vacation". Why am I taking today off? Because your 2009 National Champion Florida Gators are playing their annual Orange and Blue Scrimmage today in beautiful, idyllic Gainesville, FL...and football is approximately 35 times cooler than any gay ass April baseball game. So grab a beer, your best Granny Smith apple and enjoy a sport that features athletes who "run", "hit each other" and aren't "fat fucking slobs". This should get you appropriately pumped...

And yes, I know this game is meaningless. Kind of like the first 3 months of baseball season.

  1. Hey Mark, I'm off to see the Nats play this afternoon. And even though they suck donkey balls, it's gonna be a great day of baseball...and foood...and booze. So suck it.

  2. So I go to buy a hot dog, and the cashier springs this on me:

"Would you like these two free beers? It's my first day and I'm practicing pouring."

Um, yes, I most certainly would. Thank you angel dressed in a Nats polo.

  3. Mark, what is the latest you've heard on Harvin? I see him dropping way down douchy draft boards for stuff that seems circumstantial. Or was I right months ago when I said he is frail like Sam Jackson in that M Night movie?

  4. He's not nearly as frail as some think. In fact, all his medical reports have come back fairly clean from what I've heard. The surgery he had last summer has eliminated most of his nagging injuries that he struggled with early in his career at UF. He's dropping due do a reported positive drug test and other "character issues" which I understand to be concerns about how good of a locker room guy he is. I can't speak knowledegably about a lot of that but I do know that Meyer and most of his teammates absolutely love him. I also know he got in skirmish or two with teammates (Chris Rainey for example) who are wired similarly in terms of competitiveness and bravado.

I'm obviously biased but he's a stud and will be a much better pro than Jeremy Maclin or Darius Heyward-Bey. He's improved every year as a receiver and has an extremely rare combo of speed and strength.

  5. And Teej...I love attending baseball games for all the reasons you cited (and more). I'd just much rather watch any number of things in mid-April on TV other than baseball.
