ReplyDeleteFun game last night. Was really torn about who to root for. Would have been nice to see Ole Miss continue to win without Kiffin. On the other hand, I love seeing the SEC shut out of the championship game because, fuck you Greg Sankey.
ReplyDeletewas not torn. miami hater from way back. but definitely a fun game. feel like the winner tonight will steamroll miami, but that may just be wishful thinking.
ReplyDeletethat was a very good game. stayed up past my bedtime.
ReplyDeletejust accidentally posted a comment on whit's previous post vs this one as a result of said sleep deprivation.
whit - was curious if mr. block helped relieve your discomfort with the situation
Of course, he was nothing but a gentleman, he smiled broadly and told me do not worry about it, "I went to Yale and know how things go on campus." Great guy.

ReplyDeleteBad times here in Norfolk today. Last night someone entered the house from the unlocked back door (thanks to yours truly) and stole the missus' purse (Christmas gift from me) which contained her wallet (cards used later last night) off the kitchen counter. Also took her work bag, luckily for us they dumped it in a nearby bush, since it contained her laptop. Highly upsetting.
ReplyDeleteThere are some doozies on this list, but the search "Pokey Lafarge real name" brought someone to this webblog?
ReplyDeleteTake it up with Google, Rootsy. I just report the facts. And Whit, that sucks and is kinda terrifying, I am just glad everyone is OK.
ReplyDeleteOh damn, I missed Whit's comment (and yesterday post). I hope the thieves didn't do too much damage with the stolen cards. That sucks.
ReplyDeleteholy fuck, dude. glad everyone's safe.
ReplyDeleteThey entered the house while you were there?!?! Holy shit.
ReplyDeleteman, i had the best phlebotomy experience today
ReplyDeleteIf we make comments like Squirrel Phlebotomy , could that end up in the next installment of the Ghoogles?
ReplyDeleterootsy trying to game the system
ReplyDeleteJeezus, Whit, that's absolutely chilling. Glad no physical harm occurred. Psychic toll may be a bit higher. Keep an eye on each other and try to grant yourselves some grace.
ReplyDeleteSquirrel phlebotomy
ReplyDeleteThanks, friends. Appreciate that a lot.
ReplyDeleteDamn, Whit. That’s scary. Glad everyone is ok, relatively speaking.
ReplyDeleteIn better news, last night game was very entertaining. Tonight? Not so much. This Indiana thing is unreal.
This post made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteWhitney, your comment did not - I’m so sorry, too. Very unsettling! Hope y’all got things straightened fast with the cards/banks/etc. And here’s to feeling better generally after it all swiftly!
Macclesfield…do you believe in Miracles…yes!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Fuckery Week is over
Have spent most of the day on the boat cruising the intracoastal. It’s January 10. Say what you want about Florida but it’s pretty fucking great most of the time.
ReplyDeleteyikes whit! i assume you shot some people with all your guns . . .
ReplyDeletealso, florida sounds fucking great. darkest, dampest, rainiest day of winter here in the northeast-- i took a two-hour nap, and i'm still annoyed that the birthday party we're headed to tonight starts at 8 PM. 8 PM! and he's 60! this thing should have started two hours ago . . .
ReplyDeleteSee my comment on SoD a day or two ago…
ReplyDeleteFlorida was lovely today. Saw Dolphins, Manatees, lunch by the water. Currently sitting with my deck door open while I watch football.
ReplyDeleteRIP Bob Weir. The statues are crumbling.
ReplyDeletei'll be in florida next weekend for our very last college cheer nationals. the lasts, they're starting to come thick and fast.
ReplyDeletehad a first today, though. wife talked me into a pedicure. it was perfectly pleasant. then we went to seen 'is this thing on?'. arnett and dern are really well cast - enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletesounds like whit needs one of rob's new gats. sorry to hear that whit, that'll get your attention.
ReplyDeleteroberto - unfortunately the fla weather will be taking a turn this week to colder temps.
i "may" be heading to orlando one night next wkd for girls' swim meet. assuming your cheer competition is at the convention center - our meet is right down the street as is our hotel, i think anyway.
z-dawg - how we feeling about today's bill/jags match-up? nervous? i am.
ReplyDeletemy son, wife, and i head to auburn today for a college visit tomorrow so will be unable to watch on the tv.
ROI with out-of-state tuition discussion to commence in a few hours.
it'll be mid-30s and snowing when we leave town, so anything north of that will be lovely. comp is at the espn zone, which is a pretty cool venue.
ReplyDeleteand i'm just about done paying for tuition at colorado, and roi ain't nothing but letters in "kicked in the groin" for us.
I took a visit to Auburn my senior year. At the time I stated looking at Auburn they offered in state tuition to out of state students who had above a 3.5. Upon admission rival we me with an academic counselor who promptly informed me and parents that the aforementioned policy would no longer apply beginning with my graduating class. So, that was that. Ultimately it wouldn’t matter because I chose a couple years of small college basketball. Still have a soft spot for Auburn. Been there 4 times. Going back next fall for Auburn-Florida.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Dan!
Dtrain, I'm nervous too. Bills are 0-2 against the Jags in the playoffs and although I don't have much confidence in Trevor Lawrence I do worry about Travis Etienne against Buffalo's sieve-like run defense and the Jags' defensive proclivity for takeaways. The best I can hope for is a close game and at the end Joe Brady once again says to Josh Allen "Go do some Josh Allen stuff" and that plan works.
