Dedicated to the premise that life would be better if we all took ourselves a little less seriously.
The golf course made it too easy...
Not glossing over this glorious pic, but a quick return to the posts of the past few days:From the NY Daily News...Adam Yauch was many things — MCA in the Beastie Boys, human-rights activist, Occupy Wall Street participant and Buddhist among them. But the rapper, who died of cancer on Friday at age 47, was also a Brooklynite and sports fan.During Friday’s game against Arizona, the Mets paid tribute to the New York music icon by playing Beasties music when they walked up to the plate. The idea was hatched and spearheaded by infielder Justin Turner and outfielder Scott Hairston.David Wright, who usually walks up to the Beasties “Sabotage,” used “Brass Monkey” on Friday. The remainder of the selections were: Ruben Tejada: “Intergalactic”; Daniel Murphy: “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”; Lucas Duda: “The New Style”; Hairston: “Root Down”; Ike Davis: “Fight For Your Right (To Party)”; Andres Torres: “So What’cha Want”; Josh Thole: “Make Some Noise”; Dillon Gee: “Body Movin.’”
saw that mets item - very cool. the karmic benefits to the squad will be immeasurable. might even balance the karmic debits the wilpons represent.
The Mets also sported their first all-homegrown lineup since 1971 the other day. And won. I still don't think they're going to end up making any waves in the NL East for a while, but as Marls said the other day, at least we like this team.
harper stole home? damn.
My mom's maiden name is Harper. So there's about a 1000% chance I'll be purchasing a Bryce Harper jersey t-shirt sometime during next year's spring training.
Shlara, I suppose you are all over Rhett Miller solo acoustic at the Jammin Java in Vienna on June 4?
