Monday Filler: Fashion

Maybe it's a sign that I'm really ready for football season. Maybe I'm just trying to forget what happened in the Bronx this weekend. Maybe it's the ungodly heat. Whatever the reason, I found the Titans' 1960 throwback unis more than a little bit awesome last night. They should wear these all the time, and not just the three times they plan to in 2009.

I don't see how the Titans will be good this year. Kerry Collins is still their QB, and he's one year older than last year. And their best defensive player is gone. Last year was an aberration.

okay, noted.

But TR, Vince Young is going to be the next black QB to win the Super Bowl. What, you don't believe him?

I wonder what Tarvaris Jackson and Donovan McNabb think of Vince Young's comments.

You would think that the Bills would learn to expect gadget special teams plays from the Titans.

Good point Drew. Terrible Hall of Fame game scheming by the Bills special teams coaches.

First NFL prank bet of 2009 (to be collected on or before February 2015): Jason Campbell will win a Super Bowl

Rob...how would reconcile the "Titans" having an oil derrick on their helmets? Are they Titans of Industry?

rob said...

the same way i reconcile the browns having orange helmets: it's tradition. don't fuck with tradition, even it it's made up. in sports, anyway.

Ain't no lakes in Los Angeles, ain't no jazz in Utah, ain't no grizzlies in Memphis, ain't many trolleys to dodge in L.A., either. Stupid, but by now a tradition.

At least people eventually wised up and started changed the name when they moved. The Baltimoreans are still pissed, though. Pissed, bitter, nasty, a little grimy, and definitely drunk.

You do something stupid for 10 years or more, it's a tradition. I have a few such traditions in my regular routine.

On an unrelated note, there aren't too many red-skinned people in Washington, DC, but that's another story.

Well, after all it's "the world's #1 best selling inflatable beer pong table." You don't get to be #1 with a cheap, crap product.
